Cops escorting a restrained person, while in an engagement. (High Bounty)

Whos fault is it?

  1. 1. Are Cops putting the restrained persons life in danger by escorting them while in engagement?

    • Cop escorts him and the restrained person dies while shooting/ Cops Fault?
    • Cop leaves him and guy gets shot?/ Civs fault?
    • c. Both are true and Cops should wait until situation is neutralized?

1. It would stop people from shooting their friends.

2. It would allow cops to move them safely and still risk their own life.

3. I could just people as meat shields.

1. Good

2. Good

3. Maybe change the players animation to laying down so it looks like they're being dragged so they can't be shot at as easily.

I like it if they can escort the guy and he cant be killed while being escorted i like it, I also like if the person was "being dragged". I just get aggitated when people say "YOU shot themon purpose" im sorry but i hella dont wanna pay for 180+ worth of gear, id much rather have them unrestrained and still fighting. Also "a slow" while escorting, because you cant run as fast as normal while you are moving someone, just saying. It might also make a cop think first before moving them because their life is worth something.

I could make it so people cant die while getting escorted, if people want that kinda thing.

then we can't die to cops not healing us and crashing all that stuff like I pray for that stuff to happen to me

I wish my post got this much drama Id be forumfamous

It still happens all the time that people kill their buddies so they don't get ticketed.  While some people may not want to pay a $180K rebuy for gear... they may prefer that to the alternative which is paying a high bounty or spending time in jail.

Either way I caught Poseidon's stream this morning while he was working on this so expect that escorted individuals will be invincible and not able to glitch restraints and they will have to be dragged so cops start calling back up for transport if you've moved a distance from your cruisers cause it'll take forever to get back dragging someone.

So expect it in the next update.

I even wouldnt really be mad if they were invincible while restrained, but that would mess with some of the cop wrecks and stuff like that.

Imo the cop should move the suspect to a safe place if possible, then continue the situation.

Wouldnt that be the Nearest Cover, not 300 meters away cover? Just wondering.

In my own opinion it would be bad to make it where they can't die. As Warfare mentioned, rule breakers could use them as meat shields. It would also be unrealistic. I know that there are people that kill the suspect, and break the rules, but what happends if it was an accident? If a true accident, then that person, that died, still loses all of their gear, and is still out money. It can be a lose situation for them too, having to spend time to gear up again.

Also, I have never seen, in my own experience on tv, a cop leaving the scene, during a shooting, to take someone to jail. Cops need all the backup they can get during a firefight, and its not realistic, to me, to have a cop escort someone out while their buddies are fighting rebels/whoever.

I have always been told never to leave the scene, during a fight, until its neutralized, and in my opinion, that is correct. It just seems realistic to me to have ever cop available to help fight, not run off with a suspect because they have a high bounty. Now, I am not arguing with any higher ups or anyone else, just stating my specific opinion on this issue.

Poseidon said he wont know until its tested on the server to me this morning while he was streaming working on this.  But any time you escort someone they immediately move to the drag which means they are below the waste of the one escorting them.  That should leave plenty for people to shoot.

Wouldn't it just allow more cops to escort people away, to the HQ, during a firefight cuz they know the detainee is more difficult to shoot? I understand the current situation, but isn't cops escorting people away, during a fight, wrong as well? Wouldn't it just give them an easier way to do it?

You move at like a third of your usual speed while dragging, and the person you're escorting only covers your legs. It makes you very vulnerable, you also can only walk backwards while dragging.

Completely understand. Is the only reason this is happening because of the killed of detained people? If so, why not just record and report, like everything else?

I'm not arguing at all, just trying to fully understand.

Make a rule that cops cant escort a detainee out of the area until the situation is dealt with. Happened to me today, dude didnt even heal me, escorted me through fire to his car to drive me to HQ. I feel like making it a rule would be more beneficial. From my experience cops follow rules like this.

Rules this rules that, why not instead of adding a rule for every single little thing, features are just changed to prevent the issue in the first place? Hence why in the update i'll be re-enabling the no damage from vehicle collisions. We had it enabled previously but there was an issue with the rag doll state of players, but this may have been fixed in armas lastest patch.

The person being escorted will be invincible also correct?

Only the person being escorted, the person dragging the player will not be.

That would be Nice to Stop Friends killing Friends but then APD would use People as RIOT Shields or Civs would be Used as Deputy Meat Shields.... maybe you could add the Ability for Deputies to have special ability to be carried as RIOT Shields TROLL
