Arma 3 FPS drop/stutter NEED FIX!

Recommended Posts

When I play arma 3 no matter what server I go onto my FPS stutters and drops to around 3fps and then goes back up also this is sometimes combined with the texture bug fix that gets enabled, I will list my specs underneath this if you guy's have any recommendations or feedback or even anything that could possibly help please comment it below. It really does effect my gameplay and limits me to how I can perform. I have already tried messing with my in-game video settings and have also researched for a solution but can't find anything helpful enough. Im coming to the conclusion that it could possibly be a memory leak but I am not entirely sure.

Specs:

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Home

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor, 3800 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processors

Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB

Total Physical Memory: 7.12 GB

Available Physical Memory: 3.69 GB

Total Virtual Memory: 17.6 GB

Available Virtual Memory: 12.4 GB

Like I have 8 gb of ram and I recently have been keeping task manager open on my 2nd monitor and i realized that most of my ram is being use up so, maybe open task manager while playing and check that

Yeh I normally do keep it open and the disk and memory is normally very high. The disk reaches 100% but I often use the run command WRP -cancel to lower it for the time being were as the memory it's normally at around 70% but I can't seen to reduce it.

Processor isn’t powerful anymore, 8gb shouldn’t be an issue but having an SSD will help FPS

What ssd would you recommend. No more than £150 ($200)?

What's your graphics card look like? Or are you using on-board?

Is your CPU getting thermal throttled?

Why do you have so much swap memory configured?

It's not being throttled, also I have no idea on why I have so much swap memory configured or even how to solve it. If you haven't figured it out yet I don't really know what im doing ahahaha. Also it's not onboard I have a GTX 1050 Ti.

While an SSD will help improve his load times... it's not going to do much for his FPS. Your cpu is throttling your gpu not allowing it to perform at its max. You need to replace your motherboard and get a new cpu. That will increase your frames way better than a new SSD. You might also want to look at how much power your computer needs overall.  I recommend an  i3 8350k. It's overclockable and will still perform decent with your 1050. You WILL have to switch out your motherboard to buy that processor. Also make sure that your graphics card is getting enough power to supply both the card and cpu with enough left over for everything else.

Thanks for the response, also how would I makes sure that my graphics card is getting enough power and stop my cpu throttling?

Go to your gpu specs and check how much volts, a i3 8350k only takes 90v, would recommend a 600 power supply, and get a z270 motherboard, if you ever want to upgrade be better

Edited: also prefer to have more ram, prefer another 8gb ram

Thanks will check it out.
