APD Handbook Update 11/2/19

Recommended Posts

Altis Police Department Master Handbook

Chapter III - Civilian Interaction

5.      Dealing with R&R

1.     Medics are subject to all civilian laws. Officers shouldn’t stop R&R from conducting their duties unless directly interfering with an APD situation.

2.   Medics may be detained by the APD for the purpose of assisting the APD in police activity for a maximum of 15 minutes.

3.   Medics that interfere with APD situations may be dealt with lethal force or detained if given sufficient prior warning.

4.   Medics that are found to be in violation of any laws may be charged according to the Ticket Guide.

Chapter VIII - Searches and Seizures

7.      Warrants

1.      Raid Warrant

1.      House/gang shed raids are authorized when:

1.      A suspect has taken refuge or is shooting out of a locked house/gang shed.

2.      APD must enter to rescue a hostage.

2.      POs+ can issue raid warrants and must only enter the premises to capture a criminal. The officer issuing the warrant must announce that they will be raiding.

2.      Search Warrants

1.      Search warrants allow Sergeants+ to enter the premises to capture suspects and/or contraband. The raid must be announced and must be exercised within 45 minutes of the situation being deemed clear.

2.    Search warrants can only be executed 5 minutes after notifying the owner or keyholder, unless the suspect is in custody.

3.      House/gang shed searches are authorized when:

1.      An APD member has a form of probable cause (bounty, illegal weapon, etc.) and witnesses a civilian interacting with, shooting out of, or taking refuge in a house/gang shed in any form. The Sergeant+ has discretion on whether or not to conduct a search.

Chapter XIV - APD Aircraft

4.      Hummingbird

1.      If giving chase to a vehicle piloted/driven by a suspect of a crime, or a vehicle which is carrying a suspect of a crime, the pilot/driver is to be notified by text message to land/park the vehicle

1.      The Corporal or higher must be the one to give the directive to use the guns.

2.      The Hummingbird may go guns hot against any civilians fighting the APD upon the direction of a corporal or higher.

3.      The unarmed Huron and WY-55 Hellcat are treated as a hummingbird.

Chapter XV - Bait Cars

1.      Bait cars may only be used for patrol by SGT+

2.      Bait cars may be left in illegal areas, but those areas may not be camped

1.      A marked vehicle must accompany the bait car into the zone

3.      Movement of the GPS tracker is probable cause to raid, regardless of time.

4.      Bait cars may only be given to civilians to facilitate APD operations.

5.    Sergeants and higher may utilize undercover hatchbacks and SUVs for patrolling illegal areas.

Until the update comes, medics can be manually charged, and processed as civilians ( @your name @Williams_254). Nothing new with the bait car rule change.

I  mean this does not change anything, we will have a week were APD will take medics for no reason and charge a medic with something small. Then the medic will leave jail or pay his ticket and keep doing his R&R duties, If people think that a medic is going to get written up for every ticket they get then think again.

12. Medics detained or arrested by the APD for failing to comply with orders or instructions may be subject to disciplinary action.

@Outcast tried arresting me onetime for driving at night without headlights.  Had a fun little high speed off-road chase. I won.

Medics will follow all rules and laws which pertain to the civilian community, including but not limited to:

   - 1.8.1 Speed and traffic laws
         - 1.8.2 Disturbing the peace

Read your handbook

Yeah going to a call with lights and sirens is not speeding, if a medic is driving and gets pulled over for speeding because a cop wants to mess with a medic and reports him that I will talk to the medic and he will not get in any real trouble for that.

Good, this could be really fun as a medic, breaking minor crimes and then trying to get away? That sounds like an awesome chase to me. Shouldn't get in any trouble whatsoever for messing with the APD.
