I have come to a tentative hypothesis that this subject is incapable of reading text in an HTML format, it appears as though his ability to "read" and "comprehend" text is not the same as any other form of intelligent life. Where as literate person would be able to decipher a sentence by individually reading the letters, then combining those into a word, repeated multiple times as to understand the structure of a sentence. It appears this life form is incapable of such a process for certain media formats. When presented with HTML based text it shows no evidence of being able to comprehend what was said, but when that format is converted into a PNG image, it is able to mock the underlying text of the image.

I propose that this could be evidence for how the ancestors of humans first developed intelligence, rather than using a hierarchical structure of knowledge like all other forms of known intelligent life, this being seems only capable of the "feelings" of intelligence, rather than understand something, it gets the "vibe" off of it. Where a normal person would "comprehend", this entity would "experience".

To use a more concrete example: Modern humans would be able to understand the concept of a ship both from seeing it in real life, and from seeing it's theoretical abstraction in the form of a painting. But perhaps our ancient ancestors would have been able to understand a ship if they saw it in person, but if their only exposure to it was a painting, they would have no understanding of it, as their neurons were not designed for abstractions, but for as is. They would simply see a canvas, with different materials imbued into it, rather than make sense of how the ink forms into the ocean, and a ship. They lacked the "Theory" and only the "Practical". This could explain why the oldest cave paintings are 40,000 years old, perhaps that is when humans evolved the capability to combine their preexisting practical intelligence, with a new form of theoretical intelligence. In the case of cave paintings, where as before they were only able to understand a buffalo if they saw a buffalo, now they gained the ability to understand a buffalo from the theoretical description of a buffalo as well. They gained practical intelligence and theoretical intelligence.

Yet with our given test subject, he seems as if he is ONLY able to understand the theoretical, not the practical. In the case of the online: He can't understand HTML (The real, the practical), yet is only able to "feel" PNG (The theoretical). That is to say, it is my proposal that he is a creature with only theoretical intelligence. Where a modern person can understand a ship, and the painting of a ship, and an ancient person can only understand a ship, and not the painting of a ship, perhaps this test subject would be unable to understand a ship if he saw it in person, but would be able to understand the feeling of a ship if he saw it as a painting. To use more website based examples: This subject appears unable to understand HTML, yet is able to "feel" PNG. Perhaps by studying a form of life without any practical intelligence, and only theoretical intelligence, we can come to further understand how these two forms of intelligence differ from each other, and we can come to understand how prehistoric humans eventually managed to develop theoretical intelligence along with their practical intelligence.
