Inspiron 531s Rebuild

Recommended Posts

People who are not PC enthusiast, keep scrolling.

Did a little fun PC build and thought I'd share for all my PC enthusiast.

Took an old Inspiron 531s case my parents had lying around and rebuilt it.

The IO board was apart of the case so I had to use a Dremel to create space for the new IO board.

Cable management was horrendous.

Used old parts that I had lying around like the RAM and the SSD I used.

cpu temp on boot: 25 c

system temp on boot: 35 c

Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 3.9 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU cooler: Stock AMD cooler
Motherboard:  MSI A520M-A PRO Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
RAM: TEAMGROUP Vulcan 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 CL16 Memory
Storage:  Kingston A400 240 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
PSU: Silverstone TX700-G 700 W 80+ Gold Certified TFX Power Supply

How's the airflow on it? I know most older PC models were absolutely awful for airflow because it wasn't really considered in those days

the case only allows for 1 case fan and its an exhaust, considering on boot it was low temp and i wont be doing much on it, should be ok.

feel like this would be awesome to  give to parent/older family member that way they can enjoy modern business/casual computing without flashy rgb vomit aesthetic
