Olympus Texture/Graphic Designer Applications

We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our Texture/Graphic Design team! We have open positions, starting at the "Contributor" level, with the potential for rapid advancement to "Designer" based on performance and creativity. As a member of our design team, you'll be responsible for creating the visual elements that make our server stand out. We're looking for applicants who can think outside the box and consistently deliver eye-catching designs that keep our community engaged and excited about what's coming next.

How to Apply: If you're interested in applying, please submit your application in the "Developer/Designer Applications" section of the forums under Support, and select your desired position. Those who have applied previously are welcome to reapply. We strongly encourage you to put time and effort into your application and provide a portfolio or work samples. These are essential for us to evaluate your skills. Please remember if work examples are not presented, then your application will be denied.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Contributors:

  • The Contributor role is an entry-level position designed to help new members acclimate to our workflow and showcase their skills.
  • Contributors are not officially part of the staff team, meaning they are not invited to staff meetings or given staff-specific rewards. However, they will still receive compensation for their work and are expected to maintain regular activity.  Contributors are expected to act with professionalism and maturity.
  • A basic understanding of design software such as Photoshop or similar programs is required.

Designers:

  • Designers are responsible for introducing fresh, creative concepts to keep the server's visuals exciting and innovative.
  • Designers are considered full staff members, with all the associated responsibilities and privileges. This includes access to staff meetings, inclusion in the staff directory, and staff perks (such as rewards and payouts).
  • Designers are expected to submit new designs regularly (at least monthly) and work well with the team to implement ideas that enhance the server's aesthetic.
  • Proficiency with design software like Photoshop (or similar tools) is required, and applicants should have a strong understanding of design principles.
  • Designers are also expected to uphold the professionalism and maturity expected of staff members.

Requirements:

  • Age: 17+ (exceptions may be considered, but a high level of maturity is required)
  • Experience: Familiarity with software such as PBO Manager, GIMP, and TexView is preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of texture design, including the integration of AS, SMDI, and NOHQ files into textures.
  • Software proficiency: Must be proficient at designing software such as Photoshop or any other program in that field.
  • Creativity: We're looking for original ideas—submitting something like a red vehicle is not creativity.
  • Reliability: Designers are expected to complete tasks on time and contribute designs worthy of being implemented into the server.
  • Teamwork: We are a collaborative team, so helping others with feedback and ideas is encouraged.

What You’ll Gain:

As a staff member, you'll not only contribute to the success of the server, but you'll also enjoy a range of perks, including staff pay and special rewards. There will be an interview process to ensure that you understand the expectations of the role and how the design team functions.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any Senior Design Team member. We look forward to seeing your creativity and passion for design!
