What’s scrap for?

I’m new to the server and won scrap on the daily login, just wondering what it is and what it does. Can anyone explain to me what it’s for and how to use it?

You can get scraps by taking other people's vehicles to the chop shop. You can sell the scraps to another players or you can craft different items such as weapons, ammo, armor, vehicles and things you can't buy from rebel outpost.
