Lead Developer Popular Post Fraali 1624 Posted April 5 Lead Developer Popular Post Report Posted April 5 The Performance/Profiling build is an experimental build of the Arma 3 executable. It has optimizations and changes that may or may not eventually get into the main stable build of Arma 3. The current profiling build (v26 - 2.18.152746) contains many significant performance improvements, as well as a new system for downloading mission files. The profiling build downloads missions as fast as your network can handle without putting any pressure on the server at all, where the old system is slow, and causes hiccups on the server during high-population times. For further information and updates on the Profiling/Performance build, the Arma 3 discord can be found here: https://discord.gg/5tsjjtnv ("perf_prof_branch" channel specifically) There are 2 ways to install the build 1. Downloading/Installing the profiling build via Steam Betas Note: Utilizing the Beta will auto-update your Arma 3 when a new profiling build releases, which can cause instability to your game if it has issues. Open Steam Right click Arma 3, and select Properties In the new window, select "Betas" on the left. Find the dropdown beside "Beta Participation", and select "profiling" That's it! Enjoy the better performance, and mission download speed for servers that support it! If you'd like to revert, select "none" instead of "profiling" in the dropdown menu 2. Manually Downloading/Installing profiling from the Bohemia Interactive Google drive Note: Only recommend doing this if you understand how to navigate a file system, and replacing files. Doing this without understanding anything can cause your game to not launch. Profiling Google Drive v26 The known stable build v26 can be found at the google drive link under "218perf" -> "v26" (or use the direct link above) There are multiple builds in the folder, depending if you're using Windows or Linux Windows - "arma3client_x64_performance_218_152746_v26.7z" Linux - "arma3client_x64_performance_218_152746_v26_linux.zip" When the file is downloaded, extract it to wherever you'd like. Normally the Downloads folder is fine. There will be 5 notable files inside - arma3_x64.exe - steam_api64.dll - steamclient64.dll - tier0_s64.dll - vstdlib_s64.dll Navigate to your Arma 3 executable directory. (Default: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3") Recommended to create a backup of all the above files from inside the Arma 3 directory After backing up the above files, replace all above files with what was downloaded earlier. If you'd like to revert, either revert this process, or validate game files via steam. That's it! Utilizing the profiling/performance builds helps both your FPS, download speed, and server stability! 19 1 1 1
