This is kind of the problem. We don't want to ban off of could be cheating, we try to be sure. It's not as easy as "just ban cheaters" and "watch for recoil" it's an old game on an old engine with old cheat detection and people have had a lot of time to get obnoxiously good at the game, and obnoxiously good at cheating, how do you tell the difference? I think it's also important to know most cheaters who get caught, get caught by us, battle eye doesn't catch a tun, bohemia doesn't do a boatload of anti-cheat, It's just us, and even more it's mostly Fraali. Ill also say we have given out 12 scripting bans this week and 22 the week prior so it's not like we aren't looking.

The whole hotswap batteries is a huge feature that other manufacturers need to pick up. I avoided wireless headsets because charging sucks and these just don't have that issue. You can also get more batteries and a dock that charges them from B&H for like 10$ On an unrelated note God I miss being able to swap my phone battery...

If you choose to engage boats, cars, planes, and trains all in one message you have to add some extra reaction time. 1.7 no need to check the RNR handbook for rules about how to be a civilian. 1.10. Code 3 is now officially engagement. Civs can shoot cops that code 3. Cops can only shoot if the civ runs in a vehicle, or they engage like normal. Ch4 4.5 Storing a vehicle preemptively has been treated as CL for a while, now it's in the rules. 4.6 This is moved from the MISC chapter as it makes more sense here. Ch5 5.3 This is still a thing you can do. I don't know why we specified you are allowed to do a thing you are allowed to do anywhere in a helicopter. Ch6 6.1 && 6.1.2 There are lots of reasons to mess with the RNR, as long as a player is engaging and RPing correctly, feel free to mess with the RnR. Ch7 7.3 && 7.3.1(Old) We are combining the two rules. 7.3.1 (New) The auto-unrestraint was not considered a safe release before this rule because the hostage player was never 'released' It's now stated more directly to alleviate confusion. Ch9 9.1.1 Terror is now open season! Kill everyone in sight. Ch11 This whole chapter was removed. Most of these things aren't possible anymore, and glitching out of jail would be exploiting which is covered by rule 22.7 Ch14 14.7 Randomly causing death and destruction is the definition of RDM and RVD. Depending on the circumstance, this is still against the rules but is better covered by the appropriate chapter. Ch15 15.6 Kill them cops. Ch 18 (Now Ch22) We moved the chapter because it was weird having Misc rules in the middle of the rules. 18.2 Moved to Ch4 because it makes more sense there. 18.5 Don't ban evade. 18.6 && 18.7 Become 18.5 We combine two rules into one. 18.14 && 18.12 Rewording to make the rules clearer. Betting outside the game is not allowed. Ch20 20.3 This was the most convoluted rule in existence. The rule was if you have a WPL hostage in a red zone they must be restrained so that the APD doesn't strip the WPL hostage license. It's worded so poorly and so niche that we think the rules are better off without it. Cops still shouldn't strip WPL's for no reason. CH 22 Just changed some wording, and added a clear indicator when a medic is doing flight training. I just disagree. The burden has always been on the reporter to upload. I think this issue is pretty rare considering how difficult it was to find similar reports. I believe staff will do the due diligence to check on the rare instances where it matters and there is a dispute or question about home ownership, its incredibly easy to verify who owns what. I think the flip side of this is saying "I know you watched someone blow up your stuff, but blowing up your house isn't hostile so you are getting a ban for RDM" is unintuitive, and how we end up with a crazy web of rules that only make sense to people with 1000+ hours. Saying blowing up someone's stuff is hostile action and you can be killed for it seems to me so far to be pretty intuitive. Saying I don't care because I disagree with you, I don't how to fix that, I just disagree with you.

Honestly... I have no idea. I have never seen this particular issue exactly like this before. I went through as many old tickets as I could stomach trying to find a predominant precedent and found only one remotely similar and it ruled the same way. That said old tickets are ridiculously easy to miss stuff when a relevant ticket may be named "Timmy #69420" and the message is just a Youtube video that may or may not work anymore. Placing explosives by itself isn't hostile action, similar to how wearing a suicide vest isn't. But yeah, if I catch someone placing explosives near my house im probably shooting first and figuring out the details later. I think its what most people would do and Its probably why most of staff agreed that blowing up a shed should fall under hostile action. It went all the way up to Gary, and now we are at this point in time.

Chapter 5: Aviation Warning shots may be given to air units (including the R&R) if you do not wish for them to land near your location (3 single rounds shot not directly at the air unit). Warning shots with a suppressed weapon are invalid. If a person does not fly away after being given warning shots, you may then open fire on them. I can respect the opinion but I vehemently disagree. If we had to consider who was the aggressor in every clip like this, it means everyone has to submit longer clips for VDM so admins can identify who is the aggressor. And the length of required clips is already a pretty common complaint of new players. you also would need to have an answer for situations like what if a player is trying to recover a previously stolen vehicle? who is the attacker at that point? What would you do with gang members defending a friend, are they the aggressors or defenders? We would end up with defenders pushing even harder to get VDMed, it would be meta to drive into walls and at the last second swerve back into the road in hopes that someone slams into you. Swerving back and forth on the roads, and driving erratically specifically hoping to get hit. And when we inevitably hit a defender with a ban for trying to get VDMed they are going to say they are just driving defensively. The guy also had 5 HP from getting tased earlier, this was a light paint trade, it didn't look intentional, and running into a bush would have killed him. Not that this matters for VDM but it's a cops and robbers server, and it's not like this guy was a new player doing a silver run in his SUV. He is doing BM heroin with a 1073k bounty. The guy being reported has fewer hours and less money. If we made it a rule that to rob someone you need to be extra special careful with the person you are robbing and give them the right of way on the shitty ArmA Dirt roads while driving ArmA 'the road is ice' hatchbacks or else the admin team is going to force compensate the guy who turned in front of you I would argue it would have the opposite effect and make new players feel even less comfortable engaging in what is the core gameplay mechanic of the server. Also, I hate talking about tickets but the final result of all of this was the hatchback wasn't banned. Compensation can still be requested and there is an OK chance it gets approved... not 100% but it happens pretty frequently.

It wasn't a report against OP, It was a report on the hatchback. @ CmStorm Players aren't allowed to intentionally hit, and as a result, destroy vehicles. You did nothing wrong in the clip, and can drive evasively, all you want as long as you are not intentionally hitting people. The problem with the video is the intent isn't clear. In the full situation, they pull around you multiple times and try to tase you, they don't seem interested in hitting you, and with this contact, it looks like the hatchback just didn't react in time, and not like he was trying to disable you.

TLDR: Some rules were moved, and some had some grammar edits. All rules are still ultimately the same nothing to see here. We have a slightly different format this time around, with lots of minor changes, a full changelog would basically be a re-post of the entire rules. @ Dante @ Bubbaloo Burrito @ Marcus @ Mighty spent time updating our rulebook. so we have some grammatical changes, and hopefully some ease-of-use changes. Many sections now have links to their respective Wiki Pages like Gang Turfs and Terror Attack. Some more notable changes Chapter 6: In-game volume has been moved to Chapter 19: Miscellaneous Players must have in-game sound effects turned up to the point where direct voice communication from other players is audible. Do not sit with an open mic playing music, yelling or other disruptive sounds as this is disruptive and makes it very hard for players to hear each other. Chapter 16 has some old rules related to Ghosting and 'Hits' that are no longer relevant. If caught Ghosting servers it will be considered Meta-Gaming. This means you may not die on one server, swap to another, gear up, head back to the location on the last server then re-log to the previous server to re-engage the same players. If you wish to re-engage then do it properly from within the same server. If a member of your group or gang has a 'hit' on them, you can not kill them in order to claim their bounty. And APD Escort rules have been moved from Chapter 17: Federal Events to Chapter 13: Blue Zones APD Escort Event The APD escort motorcade is considered KOS, no RP is required by civilians in order to interact with the APD escort event. Exception: Use of explosives against the APD Escort event with intent to blow up the escort vehicle is prohibited and will result in an event disruption ban. Any civilian interacting/interfering/seen participating with the APD Escort event may be shot on sight by the APD, no RP is required. Example: Blocking the road in front of the APD escort event motorcade, trying to pit police escort vehicles off of the road, etc. APD vehicles associated with the APD escort event must use emergency lights, no sirens required.

I own both (Pixel 7 and iPhone 13) I find myself daily driving the pixel more often, and in all honestly, stock, they are 95% the same phone. I use the pixel more because it's an ecosystem I'm more familiar with using but switching is nothing. imessage is better than RCS no doubt but apples refusal to use RCS alongside iMessage tells me everything I need to know about Apple. Android to anything RCS enabled is great. It's sad that 3rd party apps have figured this stuff out but android and apple can't play nice. Like discord is almost a better messaging app that works perfect on even more ecosystems. My other issue is if I dislike something apple does on the newest iPhone like remove the headphone jack, move the volume button, raise the price, whatever, there isn't anything I can do. With android I can buy like 5 different Samsung flagships, a Google phone, or a onePlus to name the major brands. Android is a little harder to gripe at because it's an OS not a whole manufacturer and ecosystem but here goes. All the android companies complaining at apple for right to repair is a joke. There are like 2 phones left that use screws that can actually be home repaired, and that's pretty generous. Android companies looooove their bloatware, apple is bad about it but some android manufacturers ship their phones with so much crap. Play store and app store are both borderline problematic, but there is so much more sketchy stuff on the play store. Hot take here as well. Forcing apple to the USB-C standard was a mistake. Apple has been a pioneer of connection standards for awhile now, and the joke of apple changing their connection type ever few years was a big part of how we got such a great connector in USB-C. MagSafe was cool, lightning and thunderbolt both had solid improvements over predecessors, and if it weren't for that push we could be stuck with the old micro B connection. Forcing apple not to innovate is a mistake. if they wanted to join the USB standard because its better, great! but if they avoid making a better standard because of legality I think we will be missing out.

Pretty much this. It's hugely situational as engagements move around, how big are the groups, how spread out is everyone, if vehicles are involved, if helicopters or jets or something are involved. Honestly what Toretto said is the key, it's hard to quantify this kind of rule, but it is easy to spot when you see it. If a player is making an honest attempt to engage correctly, that player is going to be OK 99.999999% of the time. If a player is trying to push the envelope of what is acceptable and find the limits of the rules, sometimes they will get away with it and sometimes they won't. 1Km is a pretty good rule of thumb either way.
