If I'm mistaken about this, that would be great. But the multiple staff who have explained it to me, both did not explain it like that, just that you can't use it at all unless engaged on. And when I asked if my statement is how it is, nothing was contested. I hope your right because that would at least make sense on some level and not be this incredibly stupid.

Apparently there's been other new rules added that almost nobody has been told about. Apparently you're no longer allowed to ever suivest cops at all unless they engage on you first. Incredibly stupid. Also, apparently, if cops have someone in custody for 5 mins, their group is no longer engaged with apd and have to engage again. APD sneaking a lot of ninja rules in to just ban people arbitrarily. All this needs rolled back. Suivests cost 600k. Cop kits are free. There is no reason to be giving them t his much of an advantage and making them completely immune to suivests. Civs need to be getting angry about this type of secret rule additions tbh.

There has been some... questionable interpretations of intent in the past regarding suivests that have led to players being banned. Proposing a rule change, and it has some significant support from people already, and I want the servers opinion at large. It's a simplifying rule. Straight forward, one line. "If an engaged player is legally killed with a suicide vest, all collateral damage, including vehicles, unengaged players, and players in restraints are legal crossfire" This would exclude situations of clear collusion, such as engaging on a friend who runs at them. The current system has been abused by apd to a point where players get banned for killing their friends in restraints, and leaves apd able to shield themselves with players in restraints because if a hostile player with a suivest approaches said player before exploding, their intent is interpreted as to kill the player. This rule change would simplify suicide vests, which cost 600k, and shouldn't have to pay a butthurt ban tax. Agree?

Hes trying to build up his bad boy image so he can shoot his shot at a certain unnamed dev. Let the man try. Pretty soon he's gonna be wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses talking about how he told his mom he's staying out an hour after curfew and he'll clean his gosh dang room when he feels like it.

Bro how tf. Even draw distance at max my rangefinders won't get names on infantry past 350m.

Wtf? Look I've long been of the opinion people shouldn't be posting rule break videos in a glorifying manner because it encourages others to do so ...but ..their golden child nelson has spend the better part of a decade doing exactly that and is never censored.

APD State of Affairs from an External View

When it comes to @ King , being honest, my experience with him was limited. I think he's a little too lax about the rules, and chain of command, but also, he at the very least plays with everyone. He included and involved everyone. That's worlds better than what @ Winters does. When it comes to @ Rexo , he is the same. He actively engages with the apd as a whole, and his only weakness tbh, is loyalty and defending winters regardless of his inaction. When it comes to @ CaloomClark , and I know I keep bringing him up, my time on the APD he did more leading than anyone I know during high pop times. He followed the handbook to the letter at every single given situation. He was polite to people who were not being polite to him (myself included, I had a grudge) and showed a level of professionalism above and beyond my expectations and won me over. Make @ Rexo chief, make @ CaloomClark and @ King Dep Chiefs, and be done with it. Half the time shit like this comes up, it's always 'yeah but he's the best we got' but that's not the situation here. APD is completely stacked full of people more capable and qualified to do the job, and none of them are ever promoted because... some guy that used to play on the server apparently has the position for life. -
I changed my name to GamrGurl2010 and walked up to @ Mako and played a sound byte of Selena Gomez saying "hi." Anyways... selling 15x Cyrus'.

If 9/10 people on the APD have never met the chief, the APD is broken and needs to be fixed. -

I agree with the general sentiment, and as always @ Bubbaloo Burrito your attitude is top notch. However I feel this is dangerously close to dismissing the most important point. We need a serious change and restructuring of apd leadership starting with the chief. -

When @ Connor S and sov are saying the same thing, someone should be listening hard and taking actual action. -

@ Rexo would make a good chief so long as he understands the mistakes his friend was making and doesn't repeat them. @ CaloomClark would make a good chief albeit hed be skipping ranks because he makes the most effort to actually lead feds and encourages people to not give up even when it is hopeless, and does his best to hold other brass accountable. Chief is not a rank job. Promote either of these men, and watch apd flourish. -

If he doesn't have rank anymore so be it. He wasn't the prime point anyways. Fact of the matter is very simple. 9/10 apd members have never had a single conversation with the literal chief of police. That's fucking sad. I was on r&r the same time I was on apd and had at least 12 different interactions with Marcus. Marcus might get annoyed by the social demands but he talks and does his job. Winters hides from everyone like a goth teenager during their parents bible study. In fact no it's even worse than that because the Sr. Apd he appointed that he's friends with who actually interact with the apd go to private channels to play with him when he's on so he even makes the rest of sr apd do the crap he does. I lost track of how many times there's some random deputy across the map in a hatchback not in ts not talking to anyone, only to find out it's winters egoing the entire dept he's supposed to be leading. Seriously...this has been called out so many fucking times at this point that it's a complete fucking joke and a stain of every single person who's job is to make sure the factions are ran properly. Do something @ Ryan ffs. -

I once nicely and calmly explained to him the changes he made to the garage sorting system fucked over people with named vehicles and was met with "kill yourself." I then said it would make no sense to keep paying for oly+ if named vehicles gonna fuck me over like that. He told me to kill myself. I cancelled oly+. -

Honestly..beyond a meme, no. I would be terrible for that job. I have long antisocial stints and I would end up the same exact problems as winters. Some people are suited for jobs some are not. I am not. I realize my limitations and I'm not going to negatively impact the server to ego a rank. I realize this though. And if @ Winters can't bring himself to stop being antisocial to the entire apd and be able to face down drama without running away, he should also accept his limitations and give the job to someone who wont be actively participating in destroying the server via inactivity of a vital role. -

80% of people who have been on APD, ACTIVELY, for more than a year that have never once heard the chief of police say a single word. This isn't entirely winter's fault. Due to anyone trying to fix the situation getting their apd careers assassinated, 100% of the responsibility for this situation falls on whoever's job it is to make sure APD's command structure is functioning properly from the top down. Staff need to step in and fix it. The situation with king, doesn't fucking matter at all tbh. Even if king makes mistakes, and has far too cavalier an attitude to be in a position of authority in the apd (imo), he at least plays with everyone when he does. He mixes and mingles with all the ranks. -

Gonna say it once and leave it at that. Everyone knows exactly what the fuck the problem is. The chief doesn't want to play with people at all. The chief of police, the man people are supposed to associate with the role of being their leader, won't so much as say a single word to anyone below deputy chief. Everyone under him constantly makes excuses for the behavior because anyone saying anything slightly negative could destroy their APD careers. The only currently active high ranking cop that spends any time at all actually playing with the lower ranks is Rexo. Winters and Mako just ego everything and everyone. When mako gets on it's full clique. Separate channels or log out if people not from his little group start playing cop. Winters will straight up play 6 hours solo without spending 1 minute in vc. Doesn't even stop to say hi. Everyone under him just constantly 24/7 makes excuses for that behavior. He's a leader. He doesn't get to do that. Fact of the matter is, and I'm not even memeing here, Caloom Clark does more to lead apd and play with the lower ranks as an FTO in any given random day than winters has the entire 3 months I was on APD. APD is basically like one of those dead gangs where ex members keep trying to bring it back, the old leadership won't pass r5 on, and is more content to watch it die a slow painful death repeatedly than take responsibility for it. Winters is probably an alright dude. I have nothing against him personally... but he's literally doing the worst possible job anyone in that position could possibly do. -
Vehicle window tinting on Server 1
The Antichrist replied to Exterminator 's topic in General Chit-Chat
If it's supposed to be disguising how many players are in a vehicle, it has to go beyond funtionality and actually have physical tinting. -
I don't want to call him a hero. He's very humble, he hates that. Martyr.
-
I hate when that always happens.
-
That's fucked up that APD shot your engine out and made this happen.

It's more than just that with offensive defensive. If you're chasing someone, you have more control over collisions than the other could ever. A person being chased shouldn't ever have to worry about stopping too fast or turning too quick. They're being chased. The entire responsibility for vdm when one party is choosing to follow close is the pursuing party. They should be setting up to take a shot but instead they choose to drive close for no reason I can possibly think of other than to collide. The speed difference between those vehicles is an easy setup to pass and shoot the front window...so why instead choose to not only stay in the vehicle but drive so close even the slightest desync could cause issues? Every box was checked to create this accident to the degree that responsibility should fall on the persuer. I've seen people held responsible for their own desync because they were driving too close...and if that's happened, this is several degrees closer to responsibility for the same reasons. I disagree with your call because though I feel your heart was in the right place, it sets up precedent to fuck over victims of stuff like this in the future. At the very least if it's being handled like this in the future, no fault should always result in comp and not just because staff is in a good mood.
