The problem is if every IA was answered most of sapd and corps would be gone not because their bad player necessarily but because of the rank, everyone’s naturally after their neck. Not defend them but put yourself in their shoes for a sec.
That is a good point, and something I think should be fixed, and after talking to Rexo about it he had a good and reasonable opinion on that. But my message was specifically responding to someone saying I favor the sAPD, so I showed him counterproof of me attacking the sAPD.

If there is no PC to search the truck, (Ex. Wanted player has keys) then no, they can not search it. If a truck is left unattended and the APD are in the area were allowed to impound.
"Civ council voted years ago to have a notification tell cops theres items in a vehicle so they don't accidentally impound legal stuff. Guess that took a back seat to all of aegis' priorities. "

This was actually passed and put in the server. The APD can see the exact legal items in the trucks, aswell as the amount. The cops in the video knew what was in them.
Can you search a vehicle before you impound it if you have no PC? If you see a random vehicle, how do you know it doesn't have, say, 100 silver in it, and that someone is going to go back for it?

Your refusal to engage is rather enlightening, an enlightenment you will never achieve if you keep acting like this. You are nothing but a hedonistic troll, where as I am an intellectual and reason based troll. You have a brain, which refuses to think. You have a mouth, yet refuse to speak. You have a fist, yet neither raise it, or fight with it. You are a match which refuses the spark of life. You are trapped in an eternal neutrality, refusing to maintain a position, or change your position.
You are like a rubber band, seemingly in one spot, yet one somewhat pushes park on your opinion you avoid them, then when they finally move on, you return to your original position. You are a being, forced by your own self ordained condition, to never have an actual opinion.
Break free from these self inflicted chains, break free from your self induced slavery to the average. Start your journey to find your self. You will eventually realize through this journey that there was no you to find, but in the process you created the you that you were trying to find. I believe in you brother. Become great.

I didn't realize you had an intimate relationship with him. All good.
Your arguments are reductive and pointless. I initially had a bad impression of Jose Cuervo, then I was able to bribe him 20k and it showed me how he's a good part of the APD who is willing to roleplay and have fun. I gave my examples, you gave nothing but your hatred. If you would be willing to engage in an intellectual battle to determine the merits of this Officer Cuervo, be my guest, but right now it appears you are actively avoiding your prefrontal cortex, and are merely acting on brainstem impulses of which you've learned over countless hours of saying the n word.

I gave an example of a positive experience I had with him. Would you be willing to give a negative example of an experience with him? I will say he generally seems abrasive, and loud, but that appears to be due to some RP reasons. We need some abrasive and loud people, we need polite and calm people, we need a variety of people for the arma experience to be good

APD is pretty unprofessional these days on Altis. Being pissed on while in cuffs and having vulgar language spewed at me when I didn’t even say a word is wild. Some of these folks, this games all they got. Jose Cuervo is insufferable.
As an Auditor, I have to say Jose Cuervo is surprisingly willing to RP. I asked if I could audit the bank right after it ended, he said "BANKS CLOSED!", I slipped him 20k as he was counting down shooting me, "Banks open". It was actually an incredible role play expereince

In general terms the APD fall in three camps.
I - Teens and newer guys who enjoy playing cops and robbers on steroids.
These guys can be a bit goofy but they're usually well meaning and won't usually screw you over unless you're extremely rude.
They tend to be lower ranking and are usually decent about following the rules although they can be a bit immature.
II - Older players who have their lives together but stick around to goof around.
They're usually higher ranking but tend to be somewhat inactive or hold retired rank.
They can sometimes be a bit curt and tolerate less bullshit because they've been around for years, but they're also very easy-going and usually don't care too much about small stuff and money.
I won't name names but they're dudes who have fulfilling lives outside the game and play for fun. Some are even IRL cops who come here to goof around.
III Tryhards and trolls/losers
The active ones are hall monitors who are trying to grind out crazy hours and statistics to advance so they're hardasses. It's not really their fault because they're under a lot of pressure to put up numbers.
The retired ones had APD "careers" that got them far enough to have permanent whitelists but stagnated before they could leave on their own terms and they didn't quite get over it.
Thing is, some of these guys also have some very grim lives outside the game to the extent that Arma 3 police rank is one of the only things they've achieved in their lives so they have a ton of power and take out their frustrations at the world on people playing a 12 year old game.
They're also the worst because they don't have much to lose so they truly do not give a damn.
Aside from that, you have to remember the APD is made up of humans.
Sometimes people can have bad days, and some people are just nasty 24/7. I have seen some very nice people be rude after back to back feds and dispute fights.
Hell I'm guilty of having been disproportionately harsh to civs because one person in the group was being uncivil and I was just done with their shit.
Also know that the APD will usually just mirror your energy, if you act combative, start bringing up rules and throwing words around like "IA" you will lose any sympathy you could have had.
this is an incredibly based and REAL common sense pilled take.

Though the ticket guide states jail you can’t be sent straight to jail due to it, doesn’t mean it’s not an arrest able offense. If you refuse two tickets at the allotted amount you will be sent to jail. The idea behind the 1,2,3 offense amounts is to punish those who troll or grief the APD.
Ex. You stay in HQ, you are told to leave, you refuse, get detained, charged, pay your ticket, and are told to leave again. You come back in and do the same thing again, at the point that’s where the 1,2,3 statues come into play. Atleast that’s how I’m aware it works.
oh I thought it might mean like you needed to have that charge on you 3 times. But yeah your interpretation seems more like how it's intended and common sense, but like..... i'm probably on my 40th offense on some of these crimes. Does that mean they can do the third offense level punishment every time I get charged with it from now on? It's stuff like that in the handbook that I really dislike. It's not even a gray area, it's just like undefined, unknowable.
-
After further reading, I'm not 100% sure my previous message is correct, but I don't think there is much differentiation between detainment and arrest, and reasonable suspicion vs probable cause in the handbook.
The only real mention of "detain" is saying you can detain a civ if they are "interfering" with an investigation, and if you notify them why they are being detained. I believe I have been detained multiple times when I was completely innocent, without doing something that could be considered as interfering with an investigation. I will be paying more attention to that from now on.
And, sadly, there is no use of "reasonable suspicion" in the handbook, which in the USA is generally the level required to detain someone.
Given the handbook says:
QuoteDefinition of Probable Cause
- Probable cause is defined as "reasonable grounds to conduct a search or make an arrest".
Let's take that serious and go through an example situation. Let's say someone is flying without a pilot license. If we look at the ticket guide we can see:
QuoteFlying w/o a Pilot License.
First offense: $10,500 + Impound.
Second offense: $10,500 + Impound
Third offense: Jail
Does not warrant probable cause.
Notes & Examples: Add if a suspect is flying a legal vehicle without a pilot's license.Let's think about this more carefully. Probable cause, according to the handbook, is when you have grounds conduct a search OR make an arrest. Now, if you were to send someone to jail, it's pretty obvious that you would have to arrest them. Yet flying without a pilot license doesn't actually provide you the probable cause needed to be able to arrest them. So it's a crime that you can be jailed for if you do it 3 times, but it's not a crime that you can be arrested for. You'd have to be arrested on some other crime that grants probable cause, and then you could finally get sent to jail for this crime.
Does this sound right? Does this sound like how it's intended? Does this sound like how it's actually played out on the server? I don't think so, yet if we accept your logic that people need probable cause to be arrested, it means that you can't arrest someone for these "Does not warrant probable cause" charges, and if you can't arrest them, how could you even ticket them either? -

You can not detain someone unless you have a valid reason to do so, probable cause is in the handbook.
I don't believe you need probable cause to detain someone. That would mean anyone who is detained could be searched by the APD, which is incorrect.

again, bad apple, they shouldn’t have impounded it and left you there, knowing you probably left out some stuff but that besides the point. you entering a redzone is a charge, you entered an illegal area, but the cop should have handled it differently.
i didn’t read the part where they told you to leave and you just walked outside the redzone instead of leaving, honestly you are just asking for it at that point, you should have gotten in your heli and LEFT like you were told to do so.
I’ll tell you now, i’m the first person to tell a APD officer there wrong, but i’m also the last person that’s going to let you sit here and attempt to abuse the APD’s general population at your own amusement.
they told me to leave the redzone, and not get back in the m900. how would I get back in the m900 and leave the area instead?

Leaving someone 1km+ from a garage with no car *every processer is 1+km from a garage* is against the server rules and APD handbook.
how so? as long as you don't restrain or detain them it seems fine to me. I landed a m900 at mushroom pro once trying to audit the apd, they told me to leave redzone, not get back in my m900, then they impounded it leaving me 2 km away from nearest garage even though I was in sight of the m900 outside of redzone, i wasn't detained, and it wasn't blocking a path or roadway. what officer in there right mind would impound a random m900 from someone who isn't wanted, and who you forced to leave the area of the m900?

what valid reason would a civilian doing a run at silver legally be told to vacate a location not governed by the APD?
idk but what's stopping the APD from telling them that? why does it matter that it's "governed by the APD" or not?

You can not detain someone unless you have a valid reason to do so, probable cause is in the handbook. Again this is another example of you pulling gray area rule that’s not wrote and dragging it out as if it’s something major. I can assure you 99% of cops don’t impound vehicles just because. Majority of cops don’t find an excuse to ruin players runs, especially legal runs, at that point that are being unprofessional, at that point submit a report. The APD is not on the server to hender anyone’s fun gameplay for no reason.
ok well then what's stopping them from saying "leave silver pro or be shot"?
-
I've been trying to audit the impound rules recently, and the most insane thing to me was that they could literally just detain you randomly when your not wanted, impound your vehicle mid legal run, then unrestrain you and leave. There is nothing that prevents that scenario.

Hey everyone,
This post feels like a confession.
Most of you know me as kratom enthusiast. I’ve been here for a few months — sharing strain reviews, dosing tips, even defending kratom when it felt like the whole world was against it. It wasn’t just a plant to me. It was a lifestyle, a shield, a ritual. Honestly, it was my identity.
But over time, the lines blurred. What started as a tool for managing pain, anxiety, whatever — turned into dependence. Then addiction. I stopped controlling it. It started controlling me. Waking up in withdrawal, chasing doses, measuring my day by alkaloids and half-truths. I ignored the warning signs, justified everything.
I kept saying it wasn’t that bad.
But it is.
I’m done. I’m trying to quit. Cold turkey. Tapering didn’t work — I always found an excuse to bump the dose. Now it’s just me, the insomnia, the tremors, the ache, the endless fog.
I thought quitting kratom would feel like freedom. It doesn’t. It feels like freefall.
But... I also need to be honest about something else.
I’ve already slipped.
I told myself I'd have one drink just to take the edge off the withdrawal. That was a week ago. Now, it's a bottle a day. Whiskey in my coffee. Vodka to sleep. Beer just to feel normal. I traded the leaves for the bottle — and I don’t even know if I regret it. Kratom made me numb. Alcohol makes me nothing, and somehow that feels like relief.
So yeah... I quit kratom.
And walked straight into something worse.
I'm still posting this because part of me still wants to fight. But another part is fading — quietly, with a drink in hand.

Ok I have to be 100% honest the Charlie Kirk thread should not have been deleted that is horrible. It was the first open discussion this server has ever had, and I was holding off reading all of it until a later date so I am extremely disappointed and saddened. @ Toretto plz bring it back!
