They got removed because of trolls and the servers couldn't handle the stack.
We use tonao buildings now so.... idk, did the server get an upgrade?
We would blow them up after 10 or more, problem solved.
If you cant shoot someone out of a quilin you have no business being at cartels anyway.
make it to where you can have 5 not just one. i like the clam idea.
Also just raise the price of them, at rebel.
People were abusing the fact that you had no recoil when aiming through the quilin, you could bipod on it and you could hit a bush without losing health like the ifrit.
It came down to the people who aren't even active anymore saying they would leave... well they got unbaned from asylum and left.... sooooo..... ya.
I talk to alot of players even though i dont play as often and the feedback is funny most the times... like youll never believe what they did now buahaha.
Over all it was to better the server... did it have thee effect they wanted.... i dont think so because big gangs could buy 100 ifrits and stack just like quilns if they wanted... the difference ... the new guy can't.

Maybe make them pull-able from a gang shed only or something and limit the amount each gang could pull.

Olympus did an unbanathon already, it was awful. Most the people were rebanned with in the month. All it did was make a handful of people leave.

  Let asylum unban the scripters, and the hackers, the dupers, and the lagswitchers.
They want players sooo bad they have to dig to the deepest pits of the perm logs to get them.
Olympus tried this unbanning fest and it was aweful, and it accualy made at least 5 people walk away, its a main reason i took a big break aswell. Most of the players that were unbaned were rebaned within a month.

Let Asylum have all the players that dont play the life mod like your supposed to. Let the KOS RMD'ing POS go there and enjoy that sytle of game-play. That can be their safe place. (Exept everyone will be playing like that so they loose thier advantage.)
Now the Community here has a chance to heal a bit and gain actually rp life players.
For along time ive said this community has allowed the trolls to get away with murder and change some of the dumbest things to make it easyer to troll.  This could be a GOLDEN opertunity to stand back up stronger than before and shot that 13 yr girl of a server we are better men and it will take more than a cheep kick to the nuts to take us down.
OOORRRr ... the population will just go down for a bit till people started getting banned again on asylum.
eitherway. the ebb and flow of this server is what keeps it going tbh. there is always a mass die out and influence of dedicated players. This will just be a purge.
The admins that abused thier powers to cause harm shouldn't be allowed to ever be here.. . maybe spread their names to other admins in other community to let them know to keep an eye on them...

 

There is still a bad loop hole with cop to civ vs. civ to cop engagement.

      While on cop, at Air HQ, we were assaulted by a group of people trying to skirt rules, just to kill the people we had in restraints.
They were all in a group, (literally in a group shown in their own video that got submitted to someone on me later) attacking at the same time, one heli dropping some off and just hung around to be a noise issue, while a van was pushing and an armed air plane was just laying into the building.
What they tried to get away with was having members of the attacking group logging in, but were affiliated with a different gang, but wore the assaulting gang tags in their name ( as "part of their name" later it failed in the discussion about skirting rules ..)
Then they had one person push guns up, while another one, (not in the gang but wearing the gangs tag in his name) came in the back door guns aimed and pointed baiting deputies to have them not taze them so they could just walk up and shoot the people in restraints.( what the heck else are you intending to do entering a building with your gun up while cops are actively processing high bounties and saying leave or be tazed... come on not all of us are 12 that play this game #seethrough.) All while we were constantly saying leaving the hq or you will be tazed. They had the ridiculous thought to turn me in when i tazed the one after he attempted to entered the building.
See one guy pushed in, gun at the ready, while we were saying do not enter, leave the hq or be tazed...etc, we had 3 deps i think just repeatedly saying it because the plane and heli were so loud. I think they were honestly gonna try to play the we can't hear you card.  Anyway, I taze the one guy that pushed the hq (wearing their gang tags IN HIS NAME but in a different gang) and get shot in the back by a guy in that assaulting gang wearing THEIR GANG TAGS. I get epied and actually taze that guy too, like a min later. Guess what he saids... where's the engagement, rdm? .... buahahha a guy that just rdmed me in a group that was actively breaking rules, in his video he turned me in on. >>> Turned out, at that time, 5 mins from the drive to getting them safe in that hq was up. When I got shot in the back after tazing someone in a non-affiliated gang,  he indeed just turned himself in for rdm.. no no no it gets better, a member is talking in ts or discord telling them where we were after we had clearly taken coms. we were wondering how they knew which hq to push so quickly.... IN THE VIDEO, THAT HE HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT TO PULL MY RANK.  It was a higher ranking officers off duty on civ in his gang breaking the rules ... bhuahahahaahhabajajajbajajabajanb....
 

I went with the higher road and did not submit on them. I just kept the footage...all the footage.... for a good laugh later.
And let me tell you there was at least 2 people that wanted me to turn them in badly, it would have been 2 blacklisting for cop, one perm from the server, and a 2 week for one and even some talk of the gang in a whole getting into a bunch of trouble, if remember correctly.
It would have prob been biggest group punishment, how ya doin' ban video in olympus's history too i bet buahahah.
But, even though i should have, olympus clearly adhears to the trolls that activly play and all these players were very active, some being in a promoted position in a whitelisted role.  I couldn't just get what,... 4 or 5 people kicked off the server for being, just dumb as fuck about how they went about trying to turned me in.
I gave them a chance to own it and all but the dumb fuck who turned in half his own gang were cool and did. the other guy had some serious issues in the intelligence department.
In the end i just felt bad for how badly they just did.  Not only did the entire gang get just.. bent over, by a group of mainly deps... they also almost got themselves in a bunch of trouble.
Its a game ment to have fun. i get it.. shit i was in mc we helped be the reason why we needed so many damn rules in the first place. Troll responsibly people.

I watched Olympus become what it is. While a nobody i may be, i was the nobody in the background of alot of key conversations, my input, my opinions were asked of and taken to heart because i was honest and not trying to troll. (100% of the time lol) I took the roles i played with respect and tried to do what i was supposed to. I kept my mouth shut and ears open and learned ALOT, seen ALOT, and laughed ALOT. Ive seen some of the best roleplay come from some of the biggest trolls and Ive seen some of the nastiest moves made by some upstanding players. Olympus has it all. Ive been cop medic support team taxi for a day or so, heck i was even a vigi but i think i let the one or 2 guys go.
I may have not been there for the very beginning but i was there prewipe for long enough to seen all the hard work that has been put into the server. Im not just referring to all the coding and dev, i talking about the leaders in this community. The ones who stepped up and took a chance at a role to try to contribute to the progressions this server has gone through. Admins, mods, APD Chiefs, Coordinators, sr., gang leaders, civ reps, and yes even the SUPPORT TEAM MEMBERS. (everyone is included here if i left you out except the news team, that usless faction... may it never raise again lol)
There just isnt enough thank yous and there is too many people complaining about stuff that they have no idea how much effort it actually takes to make work and how hard it is to not bitch slap the monitor.
The people make the community what it is, and Olympus has had some great leaders and even a few good tyrants.
I refuse to sugar coat or kiss ass, i will tell you how it is from a respectable point of view.
I've seen some Great GREAT players leave after get passed over for favoritism and bias views, ive watch people leave over small silly changes that just made their singular experience alittle harder so they quit.
The rush to be the best is over, match and point Olympus wins. This does not however mean i agree with all the windows key, kos, tazzzing panzies that have some how taken alot of cool functions out of the game. ( the cartel camping trolls have been catered to and i believe it really hurt the
The community is focused on stability at the moment and i see no harm in going back to your roots to strengthen the server, i believe there are good things coming.

The server is in a weird state of being right now and heres why.
There are indeed alot of new players, and with new players comes new experiences.
However, there is a lack of skilled players that are willing to stop robbing to show people the ropes.
I never understood some gangs that would rob the server into the ground and then complain with no one is doing runs.  IF you get the pig nice and fat, EVERYONE CAN EAT. IE' show these neebs how to make real money and then after they have the confidence to start doing bigger runs, thats when you can really make your money.  This has personally worked out for me many a times. Ill spend 500k getting someone all set up get them equipment and show them the ropes. a few weeks later when all game is fair, i get to rob them of a few million dollars because they started doing big runs. And the best part is that it doesnt really effect their ability to do runs by this point because they now have the ability to do different runs to make up for it.
The server started eating itself, kind of imploading because no one would do runs which made cartels pointless and killed gang life for good while. People would camp dealer or what not and negate any need to fight. Just a swift 9mm to the back for an easy payout. We did have the big split were the few big gangs left that wanted to see gang life thrive rejuvenated cartel island only to have vigis completely and utterly desomate any and all inclination to fight at cartels without roaching or ghosting.
I have taken a break myself mainly because of health reasons (crohns disease -.-) but also because i would get too involved in things i really didn't need to be. Defending things that didnt need to be defended and rushing to my own misinformed opinions only adding to any problem i was trying to help with. I got to the point were i wanted to help but was meet with some nasty vibs that pushed me away and now i happily admin elsewhere. (if it takes you a month to get to the player reports and someone asks if you need help there's no reason to be a dick because you didn't do your role properly. This has happened to me in the past and actually recently.)

Arma 3 is a game we all love to hate and Olympus has been a community I hate to love!
Don't forget to appreciate what you have because you never know what changes lurk around the corner.
Instaide of just complaining, come with some solutions and don't be afraid to just because of the trolls. Let the people know the work they do is appreciated as it is only for the bettering of YOUR gaming experience and at the expense of their VOLUNTARY time,(12 units as dictated earlier).

Alot of people randomly take breaks and leave. Some haven't come back and wont look back.
There is usually mass fallout and no one blinks an eye. It is only a big deal when key people dip out thats when you see the biggest round of people who dip. Ive seen people put themselves whole heartedly into this server to just get shit on and leave. I still see people just trying to keep Olympus enjoyable and fun get consistently shit on by trolls and lazy players.
When the server took a turn to appease the trolls and started turning into a windows key kos server i personally saw a massive influx of players playing koth. I am always seeing gangs go at it on there and its usually pretty epic.  I haven't gotten to the footage of that yet but at some point ill get to all my 3tbs of koth footage. / ramble

There are still alot of good people working to keep olympus updated and heading forward. The hard work they do dictates how you spend your time on the server so RESPECT that.
Find what is fun for you and try to show others how much fun your having.
Because if your not having fun, you'll get bord and if you stick around too long you morph into a troll. (xd)

We just dropped v12 with alot of cool features. I've seen almost every major gang on the servers there either warming up to fight cartels or just enjoying some good ol combat. I saw to big gangs join different teams and go at it in kahala. It was epic. 

Need double xp codes or my advice on the best settings (example: try saturation set to 150) let me know.

Wow, another one leaving to some bs. (i mean ive never seen anyone get demoted and promoted like you bud.) Did they get a nice what.. 3 day ban for vdming.... and Olympus lost another player who actually put themselves into the server... trolls and broken game rules win again.
So what were you guys supposed to do there? let them keep vdming until.... they left with the loot? (failed rp.. situation compromised, send'em)  This is why when its the last man (deputy) standing every single person will purposefully try to not kill that one deputy to prolong the next wave. they will try to break his legs, or do anything else to make the deputy what.. push into his death anyway????!!! this needs to be fixed. When they show signs of purposefully not killing the last man standing (deputy) or not doing the fed correctly (by following the rules) a new wave should be allowed to start anyway.
Id be curious to the rest of the story, and how many units of time till this gets fixed. xd   (i would like constructive and positive feedback on what is the proper thing to do would be, what the last man standing (deputy) should do when this happens. re-spawning would be combat logging tec. so ... just take it? no lube?)

So the r&r have to value their equipment or get a ban (xd) but the apd can leave 35 scattered cars all over kavala? ( thats a big reason for the lag in kavala is abandoned cars)
I was around when the medics would impound everything and it really helped the frames in town. then the medics got nerfed and the apd got an impound buff.
now there are all kinds of cars all over and no one... afk medic (waiting for a call in kavala afk same thing) afk cop (waiting to get 3 to 1 or shot in the back same thing)  .. no one is impounding them anymore.

For those who want the back story, I was playing medic as the rank or Adv. paramedic. There were 2 other medics on at the time, an EMT and a Basic Paramedic. The Basic Paramedic responded to a call where the player was glitched. The basic paramedic asked for my assistance so i came by. After the civs soft logged, no one could see the dead player, angel soft logged and the player was glitch for him (when he looked at the ground, he saw player in air, when he looked in air, he saw player on the ground.) The basic paramedic said he would fly i told him "NO, you can only take controls if PIC dies or dc's, since this won't apply don't do it.." I then made a post in the medic section as a meme, basically showing how not all medics are money hungry and how I was willing to lose over a 100k to make a civ very happy (basically the point of the faction...

My post was met by @CommanderSuki saying nothing other then quoting 4 rules... one about how medics arn't support to land in an area that will cause harm, death, damage to vehicles...second one was about how medics are supposed to safely operate aircraft, third about how medics arnt supposed to intentionally blow up medic vehicles, and 4th how medics are supposed to carry at least 2 epi pens in case a player is glitched...

I responded to Suki's post explaining why i did what i did (basically the first paragraph of this post) and how i didnt think the heli would blow up.. I also posted this meme with the caption "how imagine Suki when he opens the forums":
 

A few days pass and 2 Sr. RnR pull me in at around 2:15AM as im about to get off, to explain how suki wrote me up, then linked my literal video (posted above) and basically quoted the rules i broke... I laughed it off, and said something along the lines of "wow, suki actually wrote me up over being a good medic? then i told them I would do it again if i had to since my job is to save lives, even if its at my personal expense..." they responded with, well if you do, i wouldnt post it on the forums... i replied with "I will likely post it to the same thread"

When that interaction was over, I posted the response from the meme above, since i dont have access to that section and the screenshot is on my other computer, i will paraphrase what i said "Wow, cant believe i was written up for this, yall need to get un bored. If you cant see the unique rp opportunity in this then idk.. i will 10/10 do this again if i need to, write me up for it if you want"

Then i went to bed...

The next morning I woke up to a 'quote from suki'... i click on it and notice i no longer have access to the section....hmm i was removed from medic.... a few hours later i was blacklisted by mercury...

True, but APD will take into account the situation, will take into account if my gameplay negatively impacted APD/Civ life and would also look at it on a case by case basis and not take the verbatim rule as law... @Sr. APD correct me if im wrong...

Fact is, i wasnt nor am I mad at the blacklist, i was actually only annoyed with the write up... kinda saw the blacklist coming with how sensitive Sr. RnR is with people... the simple fact that you wrote a literal book on this shows you feel you needed to justify your actions... also the initial reason for write up is what i had the biggest problem with, its based on a rule that was in place for a different time, times are very different....especially when i see Sr. RnR participating in the kavala space program, jumping over hospitals in SUV's, doing backflips and barrel roles into landings...amongst a number of other NON-RP examples of breaking this rule outdated rule... yall need to get in touch with your player base... this post wasn't intended to flame or anything, it was intended to make light of a shitty situation on something that was done to make an example... you can say 'it wasnt anything special' as many times as you want, but from my experience if you say 'its no big deal or it isnt anything special' more then once in a sentence, its something special...

TL;DR - change comes from within, get in touch with your player base and don't try to justify an action base on a verbatim rule from another time...

He was acting only to try to help someone, and he gets blacklisted over it. ( how many hummingbirds did you have in your garage 1..5...10.. i dont see how the old rule applies anymore, it needs to be rewritten.
This shows any other medic to just stay in kavala and dont ever risk a thing for a civ, dont try to team play role play. He used his knowledge to go above and beyond to help this guy and he got punished for it.
i disagree with how this was handled.
I have many many MANY videos of high ranking medics crashing into eachother, me, other civs and blowing stuff up.
i was going to wait to do the medic videos last. i have terabits,  but now just might put off uploading the random apd videos to add to the ridiculousness of this. i think i will go through them and clip some times were equipment was disregarded by sr medics.
I get there are rules, but this is a light rp server that is having a very rough time with all the negativity and backlash with the changes. I see trolls that get away with using glitches to lure medics to take them hostage but a medic willing to loss a heli to save a civs and his loadout gets blacklisted.

It seems people are getting upset and then introuble for having emotions.
The time that gets put in means nothing? So then is the time worth even investing into a faction that would so easily turn on a good medic because of one disagreement.

They tried that, it was chaos, In fact I know a few people who quit playing when they unpermed a few people who immediately (few weeks) showed they need to remain permed.

I took a good break then too because of that actually. It's only a forever perm if you were doing something like hacking.

They do still unperm people.

Some people they let back with no income or no atm ability I think.

I get on often but sure I take breaks. I disagree with some of the changes and get discouraged from wanting to get on. Slowly the light rp aspect is being sucked out of the server.

As for funding, I know Olympus is golden on funds but then why are we even considering removing quilins then,,, if we can afford to upgrade the servers with all this extra revinue...  maybe hire another dev/ pay jessie to be able to more active.

I've got nothing against you, just this attitude making this type of behavior ok.

It's the people who have been around awhile and are bord with Olympus that dont realize they have kids looking up to their actions and seeing that this is ok.

But let's ban punctuation in t.s. and remove a main civ vech. Not remove the trolls and upgrade hardware....

I can koth all day long, Olympus cant compete with koth style gameplay.

Unskilled players join Olympus to potato camp and roch fight cartels. then skilled players talk trash about how the unskilled players got owned making them realized cartels are pointless if you just camp drug dealer or proc.

Koth players  get on to wreck shit and show off their skill. ( yes trolls exist here too)

I have seen alot of the major gangs fighting on koth saying that it's not worth it to fight on Olympus and they are correct.

Also it's his stream, he can say what he wants. It's your money do what you want.
