So I am currently playing on my girlfriends dad's account waiting for a steam sale so I can buy the game myself. I really want to buy a house and donate to support the server but in the future will I be able to trade this donation over to myself so I can use the crates in my house.

 

If not that's fine I'll just wait for the steam sale, I really regret not picking it up when it was like half off

No you will not.  Donations are linked to the unique ID associated with that copy of Arma for that steam account.

On a non-soup nazi note, I'd imagine they'll do a sale when the next DLC comes out here soon.
