Cops escorting a restrained person, while in an engagement. (High Bounty)

Whos fault is it?

  1. 1. Are Cops putting the restrained persons life in danger by escorting them while in engagement?

    • Cop escorts him and the restrained person dies while shooting/ Cops Fault?
    • Cop leaves him and guy gets shot?/ Civs fault?
    • c. Both are true and Cops should wait until situation is neutralized?

Rules this rules that, why not instead of adding a rule for every single little thing, features are just changed to prevent the issue in the first place? Hence why in the update i'll be re-enabling the no damage from vehicle collisions. We had it enabled previously but there was an issue with the rag doll state of players, but this may have been fixed in armas lastest patch.

Only the person being escorted, the person dragging the player will not be.

Because this feature sounds horrible honestly. All it will do is basically instate the rule without writing it down since cops won't escort players out of the area if they can only move 1/3 speed.

And now civs have free reign to wreck the cops escorting since they literally cant kill the person being escorted.

Hmmmmmmmm Sounds like someone that "uses" escortees as meat shields just saying.

Just leave it how it is, let the cops use there own common sense, if they think they can get the person safely out of combat then let them, but if they attempt to do that and the person being escorted is killed its there own fault. In my opinion nothing needs to be changed, making it so people are invincible while escorted will become a problem with people abusing it.

Nah if the civ is being dragged there's no reason he should be killed by the rebels, the only time it may be weird is if there are two separate rebels were fighting each other and then you escorted a rebel and the other side wanted him dead, but as a cop if you have to drag them then you're already vulnerable by moving slowly and having your profile be pretty large since you'll have to stand.

It'll be pretty easy to just kill the cop and then kill the restrained civ.

I'm all for this change, there's already so many rules, preventing the issue entirely with this mechanic is far more desirable than just making a rule that people will break anyway.

I honestly like this a lot, this will make cops think twice before running to escort someone away. They will be way more inclined to neutralize the situation considering how slow you'll move while escorting.

So if the cop gets killed then the civ, that was invulnerable, and being escorted, is now standing up and can be killed? Making sure I understand correctly.

I've never escorted a detainee through a firefight or purposefully used them as a shield (Kavala is Kavala). I simply think this is just going to cause new problems and slow down the flow of the game tremendously for those involved.  Leaving things as they are and simply letting cops know its not ok to escort through a firefight fixes this problem.

I think this is funny. Kratos banned me for accidently shooting him while he was restrained by police lmfao.. I didn't even see him and I shot at the police but they ran around him and it hit him lmao. "RDM" and he says " read the rules" i read the rules never said it's rdm when engaging police(dumbass?) 4 days ban talk about bullshit  :(

Cops are already told this. It still happens. There are new cops every single week. Having this mechanic solves that problem all together.

It's more realistic of an escort as well.

Could you be more specific about what your problem is with it? It will slow down escorting, which needed to happen anyway. Jumping over fences and sprinting while escorting three guys doesn't make any sense.

Maybe restrained persons should have the option to go change his/her stance when restrained (but not being escorted)

Edit: I have been thinking about it, and if a person is retrained by hand cuffs in real life, the only thing preventing them from running is the hold of the officer.

Maybe being restrained should mean that you can't draw any weapons, but could still move and change stance, unless being escorted by an officer.

So I'm fine with cops moving at 1/3rd speed while escorting someone, but would it be possible to add it so that when another cop is nearby, there is the ability for the 2nd cop to assist the 1st in moving the suspect?

Basically make it so that the 2nd cop comes up, action keys, and now as long as they are both within 5m of each other, the 1st cop runs at normal speed?

My biggest problem is probably I'm a deputy and I spend a large amount of my time in Kavala.
