EVOLLL 5
the server is so low pop most of the day, 0 cops 1 medic & less than 30 civs yet EVERY HOUSE is taken in almost every area. certain towns are GHOST TOWNS. Luckily i have houses to do runs if i needed too but for player/gangs who want to expand business (which in turn makes for more interactions between players) almost impossible. even i’m bored doing a certain run, want to buy a ingredients house and a pro house somewhere else to do a different run and see another part of the map it’s literally impossible. all the best houses are gone and have been for YEARS. the supply is low and demand is high anywhere half decent which has let me make easy flips on the realtor and make money but still i check almost every day and most hard restarts and certain areas and houses i’ve NEVER seen a single house EVER be for sale or be used. people log on, pay taxes & log off. i know a wipe would probably kill the server completely but some sort of rework or tax increase that actually eventually increases enough over a couple months that would force a sale for people who stop playing as much or for people to have to play and actually use a house to create income for the investment to be worth it. this doesn’t really affect me as i have a good set up but i recently had some friends hop on to play for the first time with me and they started to enjoy it, got invested, learned the game, got better, started to earn money, then got told they will never get a house in certain town or areas as they been IDLE and UNOCCUPIED for years only to have them quit within 2 weeks as they were stuck running out 1/2cs and the novelty of doing small cargo vans and box trucks wore off. i don’t mind supply being low and demand being high as i can benefit from it but depends if new player retention is something the server values maybe a rework could get looked into i know it’s been like this forever but i miss server 2 being up and having an insane set up on there and in the past year 0 of my old houses have popped back up i check all the time as id buy in a heart beat just for the nostalgia o7 Quote Link to comment https://olympus-entertainment.com/topic/49401-olympus-house-market/

billdroid 971 Posted yesterday at 12:46 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:46 AM Easiest fix is require X amount of hours per 45 days to keep the house. Quote Link to comment https://olympus-entertainment.com/topic/49401-olympus-house-market/#findComment-618453
Pseudonym 141 Posted yesterday at 12:56 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:56 AM a potential solution could be introduce some sort of rent system. the primary intent of this would be to allow newer players/players that haven't gotten lucky with houses yet, to be able to use better houses which are currently being unused. a giant unintended side effect could be that there is now a MASSIVE influx of landlords, so you'd need to balance that so it's not super profitable for the landlords, but profitable enough that they would rent them out, so that more players can actually start doing stuff. Element_ 621 Posted yesterday at 01:19 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:19 AM The amount of players I know that log in once a month just to pay house tax on their prime real estate so no one can get it is sickening. I'm all in favor of implementing a system to discourage that kind of behavior, maybe a certain amount of playtime per week in 45 days or face the consequence of losing millions in house tax. Tammy for example has 1.4 bil and owns some of the best Kavala square real estate but only logged 4 times in the past two months with the longest session being 42 min just to pay house tax and log out. Its very fucked but I think finding an amicable solution would be the best for the current real estate situation on the server. 2 Quote Link to comment https://olympus-entertainment.com/topic/49401-olympus-house-market/#findComment-618455

Eno 6 Posted yesterday at 07:53 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:53 AM There was an idea once to develop a stat page where you could make offers on unavailable houses, to make selling and buying houses easier. Not sure what happened to that. Quote Link to comment https://olympus-entertainment.com/topic/49401-olympus-house-market/#findComment-618481

Not sure what happened to that. It was my idea. It was passed. That was around as furcon so i think the dev team just spaced it. 1 1 Quote Link to comment https://olympus-entertainment.com/topic/49401-olympus-house-market/#findComment-618482
