Reinstalling Steam

So I had to reinstall steam due to some files being corrupted after an update. I kept my apps folder separate thinking that I wouldn't have to reinstall the games if I did so. However when I open steam, it doesn't recognize that the games are already downloaded, anyone know a fix for this?

Just point steams default installation directory to where you have the games backed up and when you click one one to install it it should perform the first time setup and you'll be good to go.
