that would require people to download the mods/a launcher which would probably in the end reduce the current population olympus has. it would be a stupid thing to do.

No because on that server it's just reskin it doesn't require you to get it but if you did it would give you different textures than others, AK47 is a reskin of Katiba Carbine and the Ak74u is a reskin of one of the TRG'S 

 

If you read it, it say's it's not required to play the server but using it allows you to have custom textures

but if thats the case, its gonna be a large as fuck mission file. even if you have a laucnher. and a large as mission file = LAG!

I think you misunderstood... The AK47 would not affect the Mission File, all it would do is if you launched it through the launcher which had a tick saying next to it 'Modded'  then everyone that has Katiba would have an AK. But if you clicked the unmodded one, exact same mission file and server, everyone with Katiba would have a Katiba.

 

It's client side, plus those mods would be tiny.
