Weird pricing for Holographic sights??

Before I start, I want to clarify the fact that I know the prices have been fixed, and the fact I'm asking is just out of pure curiosity. 

 

So, I'm just wondering why holographic sights were always priced so high before they updated it. It couldn't have been a mistake, because almost all of the sights costed 10 thousand or more, except for some of the magnification scopes, which is weird. Unless they somehow accidentally set all the prices of the sights unreasonably high, they had to have had some reason. Maybe they thought the price was good, I don't know, but I'm just wondering if an admin or somebody can tell me? I'm genuinely interested to know the answer.

IIRC, All scopes used to be the same price around 10k. Then Poseidon reduced the price of scopes for cops, which accidentally did it for civs as well. This was then decided as a good price, and the other sights followed in price later.
