Asus ROG Strix vs gigabyte Auros ultra gaming

Upgrading to an i7-8700k soon and have a debate between whether to get the gigabyte Auros ultra gaming mother board I really like the LED aspect so the win for that goes to the gigabyte motherboard but in all around features I’m not sure which one to pick

Close call but I'd go with the Strix.  More RAM capacity (128 GB vs 64, although 64 is probably still mega-overkill for gaming purposes) and it has wifi built in in case you ever need it.  I've found Asus products to be very reliable; I don't have much experience with Gigabyte.  Look at reviews and see whether either has DOA or reliability issues reported, and if they're the same on that count then I'd probably go with whichever is cheaper.

The asus bios is very user friendly, and offers a good program (AI Suit) in windows for automatic overclocking in case you don't want to mess with anything. You can control all fans, curves, and PSU options from it.
