If you have actually read Ryans asylum discord chats, you would know that he bought some reforger copies for his devs to learn arma 4's framwork on, implying that they aren't planning on doing anything with reforger, but wait for a4 to come out and have their devs already have some basic familiarty with it's system from some practice on reforger

if you haven't read every olympus staff message in the asylum discord are you even on oly fan?

There's definitely been more said in more details in other posts. I don't wanna misrepresent so will keep it brief but we have looked into Reforger previously and do have an interest currently. Reforger is extremely different from A3 so would require lots of effort.

Only thing I really can guarantee right now is that we could absolutely blow any of these existing reforger servers out of the water when we put our minds to it

I’ve always said I’m down to do reforger, getting devs for it are tough. Doing both with the current team will also be tough as there is a huge learning curve. I have nothing confirmed but will say we have been looking into it more recently. If anyone feels they are good enough to join the team and assist they are welcome to apply as well

What's the point of putting all that work into a server that will just die in 2027 bc of Arma 4. Not saying, it's a bad idea, i'm 100% on board, but from the multiple posts it sounds so hard on a dev perspective. 

Should just work on player retention and getting more new players into Olympus Arma 3. Get a marketing team  

Continuing on a community retention perspective - you ever thought of just growing Olympus into a multiple server community - Minecraft, GTA etc. While keeping Arma 3 at the source of Olympus.

i think we should be slowing dev work down on here truly and putting the focus in to Reforger. I think it Olympus could make a huge name for them self's on there as the current servers suck balls. not to mention more people will know about Olympus once Arma 4 is out so i see it as a win win for Olympus   

also they should do a mass un ban on here for anyone who has been banned for 2 years + call it an early Christmas gift

We don’t have 100% focus on reforger, more of a side project when there’s time. Nobody is dedicated to it currently though.  Olympus has tried other games and not only has it been proven to be a waste of dev time but also kills the arma along side with it. Player retention changes for arma has been discussed and will be implemented in coming updates. Also, arma 4 will be nothing different from reforger, reforger basically a beta for arma 4 at this point. So if we did anything there’s it’s basically copy paste and calling it a day so all in all time wouldn’t be considered a waste on there.

We have had slowed down dev work over the last few months and our pop sliced literally by half since then. Can’t afford to stop here all together unfortunately. Mass bans don’t ever work either. Maybe for a month but after that 9/10 times the person we unbanned gets rebanned for the same thing again.

Not saying to slice dev work here fully but there is so much that comes from round table so frequently which i feel gets peoples hopes up and then some thing just never see the light of day. on the unban thing i really just want my brother to be given another chance tbh miss playing with him i think he has learned his lesson and would never do the same thing again

The combat on reforger is a little goofy and I'm not sure it would even work well in a life server style. Maybe with mods they can remove the inertia and fix the camera, but as of now it feels like a worse version of dayz, and just plays like ass in general compared to Arma 3.

I've Deved a little bit on Reforger and Its HOT ass compared to anything else I've worked on lmao. I think working on it in the background is good, but take away from here.
