I got hooked up with vicodin about a month back for the same thing. Apparently I had a cavity so large that the nerve was exposed. Funny thing is, it didn't hurt a bit until AFTER he filled it

Had root treatment on one of my teeth, didn't help it. Got the tooth yanked out of my mouth. 2 days off work. 4 days of excruciating pain.
