  1. Yeah man out of the four people I was trying to hunt down for the dispute only one had a forum account and the forum account was barren. No steam ID on their forum account. The other three don't have a forum account to my knowledge, and their steam names were not the same as their in-game names. I think a simple "search by name" feature on the stats page would more than suffice! I'd gladly volunteer myself to write the feature into the website. Open that ish up for me to make a pull request and I'll get it done when I can.
  2. I think it's extremely pointless to comp someone if a player can still report. I can get comp for what I lost and then report the person. I definitely think a moderator/admin should take into consideration punishing players if comp was received. Also, it would be helpful to have information like their Steam ID on the disputes. I disputed one guy and he said "I don't have enough money..." I eventually found him on the stats page (lacking a search by name feature) and he had more than enough money to comp. I never escalated it to staff.
  3. Yeah definitely sounds like a bad idea for smaller gangs. Where did you see they are suggesting this? Also, I’m rather new around here in terms of time spent playing, but what are the chances the Arms cartel gets some updates? It’s as boring as can be and the attack strategy is old. Change it up to create some new attack strategies. It’s just base Altis with nothing added to it.
  4. Why is every photo of you, anti, a top down photo? Gives me flashbacks to 2009.
  5. I agree with this. I said this exact same thing in another thread a month ago. Doesn't matter if you remove betting. People with copious amounts of money will retain that money. It's too late in Arma's life to reset the economy. How has Olympus done with the other maps Arma has to offer? I assume like every other server the Tanoa servers failed due to too little population. However, a new server with a fresh economy and no betting would be nice.
  6. On Arma you want the CPU with the most speed. Doesn't matter if it's an i5 or i7. If you're pumping out high GHz numbers then you're going to be solid. Even though the game is technically multi-threaded it is all bottle-necked by a single core process. Multi-threading for older games was not something common. Older games are retro-actively adding multi-threading. World of Warcraft just got muilti-threading support last year after the game had been out since 2004! As for Arma, I do believe there is a way to make things better using headless clients (server addition). I am not entirely sure if Olympus uses headless clients, but on a previous Arma server I played on they attempted to implement it.
  7. How do you ever expect to get your money back?
  8. I can also agree about misuse of the Ghosthawk recently. I forget what cop did it, but 1 gang member of mine and me went to the rebel outpost with 1 vehicle. A Ghosthawk came out of nowhere and tried to land but we left. It chased us for a while with sirens but never text message initiated. It ended up leaving and not engaging any further.
  9. Not sure how betting is an issue considering it's a completely voluntary action. Runs are dead because after you have like $5mill what's the point of doing runs anymore? Just go rob people trying to do runs or start hitting the Bank of Altis. Gear on the server really isn't that expensive and being able to get endlessly revived you never have to deal with losing gear. Doing resource runs also sucks ass. I've been playing this game since 2013 (on and off) and I've done my fair share of runs. I'm very tired of sitting there mining, processing, and selling to possibly get robbed of my $1mill run. I'd rather get a group and do the Bank of Altis for a quick $2mill+ in under 15 minutes. As for cartels I would implement a timer to re-take the cartel after capping it. Perhaps if you cap the cartel to 100% then it is safe from being taken for 30 minutes. This will allow for the cartel cappers to hold the cartel for a minimum of 30 minutes. Not a ton of time, but enough to pat themselves on the back and have 30 minutes of freedom to do something else other than sit on the cartel.
  10. My gang has tried to do BW and the Federal Reserve a few times. Mostly done during peak hours which result in like 18 cops coming online + rebels coming to assist. Not easy to get gold out when you only have like 6 gang members to do it with. I'm guessing some zerg gang or handle it a little better. I definitely think the jail is too difficult for what you get from it. The timer is super long to break someone out. Like it's a fun event that doesn't result in any monetary gain, so I could see the time for jail breaks reduced to 10 minutes. I think it is currently 15 or 20 minutes?
  11. Definitely agree it's just baiting a ban by running no tags but getting involved in the same situation with your gang members. Not sure why people can't just have a good time and not try to skirt the grey areas with regards to running no tags. I have no clue who the players are on either side so this is just an observation from the outside. I've dealt with people running no tags on other servers in the past, and have dealt with it a lot on this one. Also, it ruins player experience saying "give me X or you'll be banned." Let the situation play out and see what happens. Submit a player report if you feel the player broke rules. I would suggest a rule change to say "If a gang is initiated on then all gang members, regardless of tags, are initiated upon in the immediate vicinity. However, un-tagged gang members must still initiate individually unless fired upon." This would allow for gang [A] to initiate on gang and eliminate all of 's gang members regardless of tags. It is must more difficult to identify a player without tags because you must first read their name and then the grey gang name. However, it would still require the more covert un-tagged gang member to initiate separately. As I just stated, un-tagged players are more difficult to identify because their gang name is in grey and on a second line.
  12. I'll sell everybody Sting's for $75,000.
  13. I stole someones hummingbird back when I started on this server and was later killed by the guy I stole it from like 10 minutes later. The admin ruled it "acceptable" because I stole his vehicle (after he was killed but revived). So I feel it's acceptable to Titan your own vehicle if it is stolen as well. You're losing the most in that situation anyways. I agree with everyone else that suggestion #6 is no bueno. The gang member in the aircraft vehicle could very well be AFK. There is no reason to not message the pilot. As for #2 I also think that could be easily abused. It would ultimately create a gray area as already stated above that leaves it to the admins discretion. As someone mentioned, shooting at someone with a suppressed 9mm and then taking out a Titan to finish the job. Easy way to camp drug dealer and get away with all the money after.

Why there instead of Zaros? Therisa isn't too far from Neo. Nothing is there in the South-West except for rebel and warzone.
  15. I don't get why a vigi would want to give away their position and advantage by using lights and sirens.
  16. How much for the one by Pyrgos drug dealer?
  17. Unsurprisingly a vest does not protect the head. Try out an Enhanced Combat Helmet or Pilot Helmet. It's still a 1 shot from a 7.62 (one shot someone yesterday).
  18. Okay I understand you should not shoot someone in a vehicle if they are driving around an active situation (without initiation). But what if that person gets out of their vehicle and aims a weapon at you? If you're in an active situation and someone aims a weapon at you I feel like it should be okay to go ahead and shoot them. It's a hostile action in my opinion.
  19. Two Part Question: Do you think it is acceptable to shoot upon a rebel dressed individual that is driving, and remaining inside of an active situation? This individual is driving near you and remaining in the area the entire time. There is active shooting going on, but they remain in the area. Part 2: I have this question for whether the person is inside of the vehicle or outside of the vehicle with a weapon. Is it acceptable to shoot this rebel dressed person driving around an active engagement and purposely not leaving or getting involved.
