Yeah man I'm just messing with you. I come from a server (now dead) that enforced way more roleplay than you experience on here. "Hands up or die" was not allowed. Instead of had to be a little more creative with initiating (nonetheless resulting in the same outcome). It's difficult to enforce roleplay on a public server. People don't value your rules as highly when there is no effort needed to join. I'd enjoy seeing more roleplay out of cops on this server. They have no expenses to bother with, so I don't see a reason why they wouldn't be forced to value their life. The 3v1 rule is fine but the cops run at you like zombies until they finally overwhelm you.

This nerd wants to roleplay

Sir, please provide a dispute ID and 5 minutes of video to prove your point. I also need video of this person playing both accounts at the same time under the same IP address. If you could also come up with the age, date-of-birth, persons favorite color, and the food they ate last week that would be great.

It was probably lag man. Trust me, the FPS on the server gets really bad. Not your FPS, but the servers FPS. Make sense? Yeah doesn't to me either.

To be honest, if they're doing this that's quite impressive. It takes time and effort to infiltrate a group. Then to fuck them over takes another kind of human.

100%. I rarely play my vigi nowadays but the previous vigi outpost outside of Neo needs to come back. They moved that outpost to Agios and that was a terrible decision. Makes capturing someone in the south-western area a complete pain in the ass. The Athira and Agios vigi outpost are close enough to each other that it doesn’t make sense.

I didn't know being on Civ Council gives you aimbot.

Hey bud you said to everyone that you have no video of one tapping someone out of the Hemmit but you have video of a 2v1 on me? The Hemmit kill is far better than this 2v1. Let’s see the video from the Hemmit kill. Please make us all look like idiots and post it. It would clear this situation up immediately. -

Everyone has over 2k hours on Arma and none of us have ever seen someone running in circles shooting people when it hasn’t been hacking. Also, this was server 2. There were like 50 people online. -

Oh shit dude you wrecked me! Nice job! You’re still poor irl so what does it matter But seriously, it’s interesting that support team says Jeber is always lagging. They immediately defend this and say it’s lag because jeber is known for lag. But it turns out to be jmcan. Really a curveball. -

Is running in a circle hacking something to be flattered about? -
Any chance you dudes could open this up to the public? Maybe using a “lastLoginedIn” datetime paired with the name would help. Like if the person hasn’t logged into the server in the past 14 days then they don’t appear in the search. It would help with the duplicates.

Yeah man out of the four people I was trying to hunt down for the dispute only one had a forum account and the forum account was barren. No steam ID on their forum account. The other three don't have a forum account to my knowledge, and their steam names were not the same as their in-game names. I think a simple "search by name" feature on the stats page would more than suffice! I'd gladly volunteer myself to write the feature into the website. Open that ish up for me to make a pull request and I'll get it done when I can.

I think it's extremely pointless to comp someone if a player can still report. I can get comp for what I lost and then report the person. I definitely think a moderator/admin should take into consideration punishing players if comp was received. Also, it would be helpful to have information like their Steam ID on the disputes. I disputed one guy and he said "I don't have enough money..." I eventually found him on the stats page (lacking a search by name feature) and he had more than enough money to comp. I never escalated it to staff.

Civ Council Trying to Monopolize Cartels
Toretto replied to The Sovereign 's topic in General Chit-Chat
Yeah definitely sounds like a bad idea for smaller gangs. Where did you see they are suggesting this? Also, I’m rather new around here in terms of time spent playing, but what are the chances the Arms cartel gets some updates? It’s as boring as can be and the attack strategy is old. Change it up to create some new attack strategies. It’s just base Altis with nothing added to it. -
Why is every photo of you, anti, a top down photo? Gives me flashbacks to 2009.

I agree with this. I said this exact same thing in another thread a month ago. Doesn't matter if you remove betting. People with copious amounts of money will retain that money. It's too late in Arma's life to reset the economy. How has Olympus done with the other maps Arma has to offer? I assume like every other server the Tanoa servers failed due to too little population. However, a new server with a fresh economy and no betting would be nice.

On Arma you want the CPU with the most speed. Doesn't matter if it's an i5 or i7. If you're pumping out high GHz numbers then you're going to be solid. Even though the game is technically multi-threaded it is all bottle-necked by a single core process. Multi-threading for older games was not something common. Older games are retro-actively adding multi-threading. World of Warcraft just got muilti-threading support last year after the game had been out since 2004! As for Arma, I do believe there is a way to make things better using headless clients (server addition). I am not entirely sure if Olympus uses headless clients, but on a previous Arma server I played on they attempted to implement it.

How do you ever expect to get your money back?

I can also agree about misuse of the Ghosthawk recently. I forget what cop did it, but 1 gang member of mine and me went to the rebel outpost with 1 vehicle. A Ghosthawk came out of nowhere and tried to land but we left. It chased us for a while with sirens but never text message initiated. It ended up leaving and not engaging any further.

Not sure how betting is an issue considering it's a completely voluntary action. Runs are dead because after you have like $5mill what's the point of doing runs anymore? Just go rob people trying to do runs or start hitting the Bank of Altis. Gear on the server really isn't that expensive and being able to get endlessly revived you never have to deal with losing gear. Doing resource runs also sucks ass. I've been playing this game since 2013 (on and off) and I've done my fair share of runs. I'm very tired of sitting there mining, processing, and selling to possibly get robbed of my $1mill run. I'd rather get a group and do the Bank of Altis for a quick $2mill+ in under 15 minutes. As for cartels I would implement a timer to re-take the cartel after capping it. Perhaps if you cap the cartel to 100% then it is safe from being taken for 30 minutes. This will allow for the cartel cappers to hold the cartel for a minimum of 30 minutes. Not a ton of time, but enough to pat themselves on the back and have 30 minutes of freedom to do something else other than sit on the cartel.

My gang has tried to do BW and the Federal Reserve a few times. Mostly done during peak hours which result in like 18 cops coming online + rebels coming to assist. Not easy to get gold out when you only have like 6 gang members to do it with. I'm guessing some zerg gang or handle it a little better. I definitely think the jail is too difficult for what you get from it. The timer is super long to break someone out. Like it's a fun event that doesn't result in any monetary gain, so I could see the time for jail breaks reduced to 10 minutes. I think it is currently 15 or 20 minutes?
