Ok you don't get it, clearly. Players on Olympus are animals of habit, no matter how long this information is delayed by doesn't change the fact we can use it to accurately track where you're most likely going to be at any given time. Yeah it's a bit silly that this is essentially the only way to avoid what we're coming up with, and even then, it's not reliable at all once we start scraping steam IDs that are currently on the server and looking them up that way.
-
I mean, if they want to keep it cool. Just they should be prepared for people smarter than me to abuse the shit out of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Jesse, you realise we can get the majority of that other information simply by parsing some HTML on Gametracker and steam profiles right? As for everything Aether has said, he's thinking about it exactly like we are in DB right now. We've done very similar things in other games that have the same sort of information available as an API. I think you're either too trusting or ignorant to the fact Olympus players are essentially psychopaths that will do anything for an advantage. It's fantastic that admins would have access to these tools and information, anything that helps you guys admin is always a bonus. I understand a lot of work and time has already gone into displaying information and releasing this publicly.

But why? Do you really think you need a post letting everyone know of your intentions, just seems super unnecessary when all you need to do is actually stop being a retard? From what I can see your whole need for attention is part of the problem. As people have pointed out, this isn't the first time you've mentioned "reforming". This is likely just some smoke and mirrors stuff so you're slightly more appealing when you want civ rep votes. I hope for the servers sake you don't fool anyone.

Always get that cringe vibe when anyone posts shit like this. Just... why? Seems like every bodily function, thought or inkling anyone ever gets is post worthy. Actions > Words.

Whats the best way to make money solo/safe?

Orca meth runs. They're so quick you basically dodge being caught simply because you're not there long enough. Each run takes about 17 minutes, the more back to back runs you do the more chance you have of being caught because you're predictable. It's about 500k per run if you don't want to cap the cartel. You'll probably get caught once out of every 10 runs you do if you're playing it safe. If you do get caught, it's 150k to insure your Orca again. If you do die during the run, obviously don't go right back to it. If you find yourself getting caught multiple times by the same group, change your name. If they're anything like DB they probably keep track of who does what runs where and will pay attention to those areas more. Take note at who is online, certain gangs will either be in the area doing what you're doing or actively robbing. If you get spotted at one of the ingredient fields, abandon your run - they know where you're going. You can be extra hard to catch if you keep your Orca spooled by getting into Copilot and turning your engine on. While you have your engine on you wont be able to hear shit so take out your Rook and lean backwards into the wall, congratulations, you can now see through walls. To maximise your efficiency even further, grab at least a three or four crater house and fill using a Tempest Device. Then casually do an Orca run from your house whenever you feel like you can get away with it. This scales very well, I'll leave you to figure out how on your own. This same technique and tips can be applied to basically anything, just for less profit per run. I personally look forward to all these extra Orcas I'm about to catch at Meth lab. -
But it really doesn't though :/ Last time I saw someone doing this they were 13 and we were in an AOL chatroom.

Super offtopic, why the fuck is every word you write capitalised?

This has been a thing for a very long time, never seen anyone get in trouble for using something that simply just happens in arma. Plus, bipods are basically harmless cosmetics at this point.

Would you like an house auction site feature?

Wasn't there some dev working on something like this some time ago? If I remember right the dev left and the idea was left to rot. -
Gun glitching is a thing, the statement itself doesn't imply there are any rules around it. It's almost like you're grasping at straws. What part of "Don't need to break rules to figure out you're being retarded" are you confused by? I'm literally stating here it's not a rule, what the fuck? You really can't be that dumb. Going to leave it there and hopefully your parents can help you with your reading.
-
The fuck? Who implied anything about gun glitching being bannable? Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit I guess.
-
You knew exactly what you were doing when you started gun glitching and camping the gun store. At best you were just starving yourself of content and just contributing to the shit show. Don't need to break rules to figure out you're being retarded. Overall the event was a lot of fun, I agree that a bit more structure and planning would have led to a lot more enjoyment for everyone, not just those of us re-spawning with gear or with stockpiled weapons. I think too many rules would have ruined the spirit of the event, just limiting the reach of the APD would have been enough to level the playing field.
-
:/ Sick
-
@McDili@TheCmdrRex No idea if you're aware but when we get lethal'd by the APD right now we show up as innocent for ourselves but the APD still see's our charges intact like we were never killed. Basically allowing them to double dip the same charges. Can we get a clarification on what we should do? Obviously a bug but open to abuse obviously.

6700k is a beast, with a decent cooler and even a little overclocking you'll be rocking 100+ frames with everything on Ultra and a 4-5k view distance with 4k objects no problem at all. In Kavala you'll see it drop to the high 50s when it's a full server. Using a pretty similar setup to you right now (http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/jRLP6X) albeit with an R9 290 with is basically equivalent to a 970. Make sure you pair that 6700k with fast memory to eek out those few extra frames. Throw Arma on an SSD and you'll be good to go. Arma almost ignores your GPU, if you can grab a 1070 to further future proof your build for other games. If you've already pulled the trigger on that 970 don't worry, it's still a fantastic card even with only 3.5gb of fast VRAM.

I never really post or really even read the forums too much, but I'm very confident this guy is talking about me doing all these nasty things to him. I probably don't even need to reply here, but I'm bored and figure what the hell I can give fairly good insight into my actions as a dirty rebel. Story time below! So no, I don't think the community is toxic as shit as you put it, we're all roleplaying as something. Just sometimes we might be something you don't want to see in your rear view mirror! My advice to you is don't play as the victim, take a good look at those rules that were linked for you and think a little outside the box. I highly recommend SUV runs of whatever you want until you can afford a House, then use that House to store materials and gear for your future survival. One last tip would be don't use what you can't afford to lose. If you get stuck and see me in-game while someone is giving you grief, drop me a text - I'll come lend a hand or get killed trying. Best of luck buddy, no hard feelings

I just recently upgraded my PC (AMD 8350, 32gb ddr3, r9 290, ssds, etc) in an effort to get very good frames in pretty much everything but especially Arma 3. I went from around 25-40 frames in Kavala (less even during peak hours) to anywhere from 60-120 frames in Kavala during peak. Needless to say it's night and day when it comes to my experience playing Arma now. Link to the build for the curious: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/jRLP6X. Your PC is already pretty good for Arma, I'd imagine you aren't going to see a massive increase in frames from what you have now. Arma 3 is incredibly CPU bottle-necked due to the way the engine is built, it's basically running a bunch of simulations and offloading a few minor tasks to other threads. Check out this post on Reddit for a great explanation. With all that in mind, your current CPU (4670k) scores 2200 for single threaded tasks in PassMark whereas the 6700k scores 2330, as you can see it's not a whole lot of difference leading me to believe you're really not going to get such massive gains even if you do upgrade. Since you're streaming/recording, an i7 will give you a lot of headroom and you'll likely not see any frame drops if you do upgrade, offloading that stuff to other cores will likely be a fairly good performance gain. Just a quick note on RAM speeds, Arma 3 loves faster DDR4, we're still talking only a couple frames here but the reality is cost difference between 2133 and 3200 DDR4 is a couple of dollars and I figure you might as well get the most out of the new standard. With all that said, of course upgrading is going to get you an increase in frames, but it's not going to be huge like going from AMD to Intel. If I were you and I had the money to burn, I'd still upgrade simply to stay current for another couple of years. DDR4, the latest Z170 chipset features and a whole load of other small improvements all make the Skylake CPUs worth an upgrade in my opinion. Plus who doesn't like new toys to play with? If you want to save that $ though, I'd try overclocking (maybe grabbing a new cooler, but your h80i is ok), grabbing a PCI-E M.2 card and a new Samsung nvme drive and a 1070 once they're released and see what the frame differences are like. Worst case it doesn't work and you can still use this stuff in your new build. If I had to guess your 960 is only barely, if at all, bottle-necking your Arma 3 frames, I would still recommend upgrading to a 1070/1080 or to save some pennies a 480 once they're available just so you can play other games at their max at 1080p for the foreseeable future. My older aio water cooled r9 290 still handles Arma 3 without issue and gets to 50% utilisation at best and I doubt I'll be upgrading until much later this year when AMD release their high end Vega based cards. I know a bunch of people are probably going to chime in about how their 980 ti destroys Arma 3 and they have a bazillion frames, sorry but it's mostly not your graphics card. I wish Arma worked that way and if it did you can bet your ass I would have a 1080 already Unless you're running SLI/Crossfire, 750watts is more than enough and offers a lot of headroom still. The price difference between similar quality PSU from 550w to 750 is minimal. My build even with the power hungry (understatement of the year) r9 290 only draws around 500watts under extreme load. Most PSU these days are highly efficient and wont even spin up their fan until they reach very heavy loads or temperatures. Just in case you don't know, this is the one part I wouldn't skimp on if you're trying to save money, a cheap, shitty PSU has the ability to kill the rest of your build very quickly showing no mercy. The Corsair RMx, EVGA P2/G2/T2, pretty much any Seasonic and anything here will be a good pickup. For a mouse, I use a Finalmouse 2016, simple, no thrills, and uses the 3310 sensor just like the current awesome Zowie offerings. Make sure you combine this with a decent mechanical keyboard and you'll have a lot of fun. Just to reiterate on the Razer doubleclick issue McDili mentioned, yeah, totally real. I've gone through two Nagas, a Deathadder and a Mamba before I finally got done with that shit. Always the same fucking double clicking bullshit. I sure they make some good stuff, but apparently can't get double clicking to last more than a year. A great resource for me over the last few months when I was planning my build was the buildapc subreddit.
