  1. Sounds like the APD member was being a douche. On top of that if you were restrained by the APD member then the players who landed with the Heli had no right to kill you since you were already restrain'd.
  2. Yup if a staff doesn't witness either of what your stating then we need a ticket to be submitted with proper proof. We deal with people who RDM but we have to see it first. If theres nothing to back it up then there isn't much we can do. If we just went off the word of players there would be so many people banned. As for losing items again if you do make sure to have some sort of video proof and we will get ya comp'd for it. Some people stream there gameplay while others just use OBS or Shadowplay during there game-time. Both work well and allow you to have proof when needed. We have some OBS & Shadowplay guides in the guides section to help get ya setup and both are free. I personally prefer OBS as it has more features and doesn't require a person to have a Nvidia card.
  3. If your wearing a Ghillie suit it doesn't give cause to restrain, arrest, taze, ect. It just gives APD a reason to question. The reason to detain only comes if someone does something illegal. If asked to stop by an APD member and you run then you risk being tazed. If you stop and talk (RP) it out then you never know where it will go. We want everyone to RP situations out and if this adds another aspect of RP without hurting anyone then why not. Again not saying APD can arrest someone just because of what they are wearing, heck they still may not be able to get ID of the person but they can still RP it and try to get the ID. Example A: A person with a $500k bounty is standing in the middle of Kavala Square with a Ghillie suit on. An APD member walks up and begins to speak with the person. The APD then ask why they are covered in grass? The person replies with "F**k off and runs. The APD member can say "stop, this is the APD". If the person continues to run they can be tazed. At this point the APD member can restrain the person and run a fingerprint scan to get there ID. Because they decided to run the APD now have probable cause to detain the person and get there ID somehow. Example B: A person with a $500k bounty is standing in the middle of Kavala Square with a Ghillie suit on. An APD member walks up and begins to speak with the person. The APD then ask why they are covered in grass? The person states there clothes got all tore up because they fell so they had to make some temporary clothing to keep warm. The APD then ask something along the lines of who they are. The person replies with well I fell from a rock, bumped my head and so I can't seem to remember. The APD ask if they can run a fingerprint test, the person states no because they don't know who they are or if they have done something in the past. From here the RP only expands but the APD still can not detain the person but they sure can RP the hell out of it.
  4. What reason is there to wear a Ghillie suit in a town full of buildings? What I was getting at is if it's Rp'd correctly then it's ok. You can usually tell if an APD member is just standing there going through a list. Also if your paying attention and see an APD member moving your way then walk elsewhere. Since they don't know who you are they can't yell "Hey grass man APD, put your hands up" type thing. A wanted person shouldn't just be sitting in the middle of a populated town with no worries. If there wanted then let there be a risk to just sitting there. Players already take full advantage of the APD not using the tilda key so it has to be a 2 way street and not just a 1 way favoring Civs. I have personally witnessed Civs with millions dollar bounties and multiple crimes walk away because APD were "RP'n" instead of just arresting. While it is good for APD to do there does need to be some sort of counter balance to it. If you want to have a high bounty and just sit in town with no worries hiding behind a mask of sorts then you shouldn't be just sitting in town. The APD need to be able to do there job as well and if they sense something is wrong then as the law they have a right to question someone. If you have done nothing wrong and are not wanted then there is no worries. I know where I live in RL if an officer asks me to stop and I run he is gonna chase, tackle and arrest me even if he has no idea who i am.
  5. There is nothing stopping APD from already doing this as long as they RP it correctly. The point that Ares wants is for APD to RP vs just tilda key, your wanted type thing. Sorry if I saw someone in a mask or a grass suit outside my house in RL I'll pull my 12 and by the time it was done know who they were. Same thing here, if someone is being shady then APD have probable cause to stop and question that person. Now I'm not saying each and every person they see wearing a Ghillie suit is to be stopped and questioned but if they feel they may be doing something illegal or wrong then just as in real life they can be stopped and questioned. The biggest thing to remember is it needs to be RP'd. Don't just walk up and say "Your wearing a Ghillie suit so I'm arresting you". Something more like "Sir/Mam why are you sneaking around in such a stealthy uniform, we've had reports of someone matching your clothing up to no good and we would like to check your identification for safety reasons" type thing. So in the end RP RP RP RP RP RP
  6. Bojo + Forum + useful all in the same idea... LOL
  7. Wow just wow
  8. I think a new rule is in order... SpBojo & Breenan are only allowed to make 5 posts daily. Any posts above this mark will result in them be docked 2 post points each time. Any thoughts!?!?!
  9. @Jmart, the idea behinds bans is they are done in a sense on a case by case. At the same time we have to be fair so we can't give 1 person a 1 day for RDM and another a 7 day for the same thing. We try to keep a constant when we issue the bans. When you see a player with a longer ban it is for 1 of 2 reasons, either they have had a previous ban within a set amount of time or there actions in the last situation warranted a longer ban such as multiple RDM's type thing. We do roll off bans after so long already we just don't disclose what the time-frame is so it isn't abused. I can tell you it isn't an extremely long time however. There are also plenty of times in which we give a warning versus just an outright ban, its just most people don't see this. Smaller things are usually issued with shorter bans and bigger things with longer bans. With that said we don't usually give someone a 7 day ban right off the bat for anything unless it was something major or due to previous bans. Regarding the HEMMIT, I again was able to make solo runs in a HEMMIT myself without even having a gun. I ran and did plat runs and was able to save up money. You have to think about what your going to do, how many people are on, the locations you will be at, ect when you decide to do a run. Sometimes it is safer to do a small run and other times you can make the larger runs. Not taking direct routes also helps as your not noticed as easily. Now not everytime did it go smooth and I will admit I even lost my HEMMIT a time or 2 but that is what makes Altis what it is, you never know what may happen next. I also agree that the high end items should not be easy to get as I stated before. If someone wants the nice high end things they should have to work a bit more then someone who has a low end thing. Regarding legal prices, yes for new player they might seem a bit meh. Alot of people have stated this and as stated before I've added it to the list of changes to see if we can possibly up them a bit for people starting out. Again we don't want legal to be to high nor to low so we have to balance it out. As for map changes it is something we can look into but the goal with the current map changes was to spread things so people weren't all in one spot. People complained they couldn't do things because they were always getting robbed, killed, ect because of this. Now with it spread it seems people are saying they want the "clumping" again. We have a couple ideas regarding oil as well. We are looking to see if it is possible to do them however but if we are then it will add another element to the mix for players. I like the idea of making oil into something else such as jet fuel or something. It does make since since we do have multiple fuel trucks in the game now.
  10. I'm not saying not to rob or pillage people, I'm just saying that if it is obvious someone is new then give them alittle more slack then you would someone who has had time to build up. If they come into something that pisses em off right away there most likely not gonna return. I'm also saying that I know it isn't just this causing the issues. Its just one of the things that can be leading to it. I have also said that I have heard and understand that a good amount of players are not happy with the way the economy is at this point. While some areas I agree with others I don't and that is fine just as you don't have to agree with me on everything. I've done what I can in regards to getting some things changed. The easy stuff has been done such as increasing the amount Vigi's and APD make. Some of the other changes can take a bit longer as they require a bit more work. I've added to the Trello as well to increase the prices of legal items since it seems alot of people want this. Once Poseidon reviews it and has a chance to go over things then he will have the final call on it. Again I know it's not just a single thing causing these issues, I'm just putting things out on the table that also effect it.
  11. But as your stating it is people getting to that point. The prices themselves are not that out of line it hows players act in a sense. Unless we start out players with a massive amount of starting cash it will be harder for any new player. The problem here is if we raise the start amount then you have to deal with them trolls that come in to do nothing but troll then leave as they can afford to troll right off the bat. This is what used to happen all the time before the wipe. The intent of the legal prices where to allow solo and small groups to do them while the larger groups/gangs held over in the red zones and Warzone. The legal prices were meant to be low enough that it wasn't worth messing with people but high enough that people could still make small amounts of money at a time. No matter what prices we set things at if people just go around trolling, robbing, ect the price changes will do nothing to help. This is almost one of them no win situations. If we raise prices then it will be easy and players will amass money and get bored, we keep them low and people get bored because new players don't want to put in some time. The large groups get bored because there isn't enough people on so they start to mess with other people, in turn people again don't want to waste there time. We moved things around so people weren't so clumped into small areas hoping it would reduce the amount of "crime" done. If we move them closer again then it goes back to people getting robbed to easy and money being worth nothing because its easy to make. We made illegal items worth alittle less but still able to make a good profit but yet people still want it higher, we raise it higher and we go back to easy money. We adjusted Heli costs to make it harder to get em so more ground vehicles would be used yet it still seems plenty of choppers are in the air. We created a Warzone to give gangs something to do besides rob the lonely new guys yet people are not happy with that because gangs can hold multiple cartels. The warzone seems to be empty alot of the time even though it was something alot of players stated they wanted. We have tried multiple things to try and get things balanced but it seems it's either to hard for new players or to easy for long time players. There are multiple players with millions in cash yet we keep hearing it's to hard to make money, it doesn't make sense to us. I can't say adjusting item prices will do anything as we haven't done it but looking at the numbers it doesn't seem like it really is all that massively hard to make money. I started playing just like any other player and was able to make more then enough to stay well above just floating by only doing legal things solo. So again I'm not sure what else can actually be done at this point from a server standpoint. We raise prices and the rich get richer, we keep em were there at and people state its to hard to make money. Maybe if the community as a whole let the new players be for a bit they wouldn't be deterred when/if they lose something. Let them get them roots in and get established before they start getting smashed. Take the time out and if you see someone new, help em out. I've seen quite a few times when a fresh spawn has joined they get instantly gibbed by a long time player because they were bored even though the person didn't have anything worth taking. No matter what changes we make on a server side, we all need to be a community as well and try to help each other in some way. If you join some new game and right away get crapped on your gonna get a bad taste in your mouth. If you start a new game and run into helpful people your more app to think "Hey I might stick around awhile". Now as I've stated before I know this isn't just an issue with current player/gangs, we have our server side issues as well but for it all to come together we all need to put in something. I can promise we are doing what we can from a server side of things and will continue to do so.
  12. I want to list out a few things so we are all on the same page and so people do get the whole picture. 1 HEMMIT will net $440,000 when selling Processed Cocaine. Keep in mind this is the cheapest selling illegal item 1 HEMMIT of Glass will net you $188,000. There are 8 other legal types of items that will give you more cash as well. Now this equals. Mk18 - $120,000 Scope - $20,000 5 Mags @ $500 each Uniform - $500 Carryall - $2,500 Vest - $25,000 (Rebel Vest) ECH Helmet - $15,000 A grand total of $185,500 As noticed these are also not cheap low end items. They are what most people tend to run around in. This is also not taking into account any discounts a player may received by being a donator. Now showing these numbers a player can still easily make more then enough money to buy at least 2 full loadouts by doing just Cocaine. the other drugs each pay higher amounts. So with that said illegal item prices are perfectly fine where they are. As for legal items that is another story. Yes some could be adjusted but you have to keep in mind that legal items are also suppose to be much less risky and in turn they are going to pay less. Selling glass will net you the same exact loadout above excluding the extra cash however. There are yet other legal items that sell for more as well. Legal prices need to be low enough that people don't just want to rob people doing them but still high enough people can make some money off them. So in the end when you take a step back and really look at the numbers the pricing isn't all that bad. A cocaine run will take 45-60 minutes to do and net you at least 2 loadouts. A legal run of glass will net you the same loadout with less risk and less ending cash and take roughly the same amount of time. Now you can of course choose to do runs with others and your cut will be lower but this is as expected. Now regarding trunk space, we did this as what we had before was just insane. You could get a hatchback and it would have the same amount of storage as a Boxer truck. Trunk space was adjusted to be based off the default trunk storage amount. The larger the vehicle has for a default storage the larger u will get when you upgrade. The mod prices are set high as they are not something you have to have. They are extras and someplace to spend extra money when you get it. Now once again I'm not saying no changes should be made but before jumping the gun and saying the prices are out of line think about what you can actually get from the runs.
  13. The reason we made the economy changes was because it was to easy to make money. It was as you stated above, players did something for 30-45 minutes and were set to go for days. People started just amassing money and had nothing to do with it and so got bored and in turn started trolling. We don't want it to be a grindfest but we do want players to work a bit to get things. When you finally get that nice new shiny toy then it actually feels good vs feeling like "oh well if I die I can just get another without worry". Now I'm not saying some changes aren't needed but we don't plan to go back to the old way where everything was basically handed to players. I know alot of people have said the legal things need some adjustment and I agree they do need to go up a bit but not a massive amount.
  14. Sry Bojo your post count is correct as of this posting.
  15. LOL but Bojo your the toxic leader.
  16. Ummm seems there was a mistake Bojo, something went wrong in the database... Just incase u dont wanna check out the link...
  17. Lets fix this issue. Something must have been messed up in the database, I took care of it tho.
  18. Some places such as employers, collages, ect block some outside use to things. Since we are a gaming site there are a fair amount of places that do block us while using there network.
  19. Instead of repeating myself once again Rich I'll just go ahead and lock up the thread. You clearly have not read what I typed and so there is no further point in discussing it. As for the other posters of this thread, we have seen what you guys have stated have been issues and we are working on them. Some things may be added while other things won't. There are other servers that offer different features and that is fine but we do not intend on being like every other server. When we see good ideas that we can implement we do discuss them. Sometimes there are things we simply can't do because it will effect other aspects. As for rules, as long as we have players that try to find loopholes we will continue to modify what we have in place. We don't like to add rules but when the need arises then we are kinda forced into it. We are always welcome to input from the community but when we get it we need it to be detailed. A small rule often times has a big impact so we have to try and think of all aspects that it will effect.
  20. I wasn't referring to TOAD as being a Mod. My whole point was a group of players were bought off, and for more then 1 mil, as simple as that. In the end they decided to stay there and that is perfecting fine imo. I was stating that this gang left for a particular reason as well as there being other reasons there has been issues with the population.
  21. So your telling me that they were not given extra money when they started playing there, one of the staff members is not a member of there group and they haven't done things that would get normal players banned such as duping or exploiting?
