that just ends up being some kind of RVD, there is no intent to roleplay there, what could you possibly be role playing? this is just trying to have an OP engagement message, which makes sense if you think of the current engagement system as a sort of game where you try to use the right power words because rather than engagements being a built in game mechanic with more clear rules of engagement, it's currently just piggy backing off of a roleplay text message system, where no one roleplays in it anymore. So: 1. Too OP 2. Not roleplay 3. RVD you'd need to discuss why RVD shouldn't be a rule first

Just one of my own comments: It seems to be ABSOLUTE EXTREME common knowledge forever in the Support Team, and the sRNR that there was an engagement range, but whenever I pressed them on it they were never able to provide the exact place where this mythical engagement range was located. I'm glad you guys are putting the common interpretations into the rules.

i need to make a general inquiry to un perm restrict me, but last time mako said i had to wait for the perm gambling restriction to end naturally. i need another admin to look at my general inquiry and i think that would work best when mako is asleep. any of u guys know his timezone and or sleep schedule? thanks

I wish you well and hope good map updates come our way from you. You have so much more power than you realize. What simple oly players will never realize is t hat map design is everything. they may give it lip service, but that lip service is spit, spit towards the concept of balance, spit towards the idea of fairness, what they consider fair is what gives them an advantage in the moment. they don't think of games from a competitive perspective, they aren't willing to learn, they are willing to learn far less than competitive game players who need to climb a ladder do, and those players barely try to learn to begin with.
remember, it is up to you to herd these oly players. you can't make them like you, you can only make them hate you, or ironically hate you. don't even try to get their approval. it is your job to herd them into encounters that improve them. not herd them into encounters that "feel good", not even just to herd them into encounters that encourage proper game balance, but it is your job to make them learn, design them a maze, and let them learn how to walk out of it. give them an obstacle course, and let them figure out how to conquer it. proper game balance just happens to be a good way of letting people learn.
theres nothing stopping you from giving up, and saying yeah, the server is corrupted, the admins are biased, the players you help will hate you, you will never be praised, the advice people give you won't make sense, it might only be you who ever recognizes the good work you've done, but that's ok because do you really need anyone else!?!
