  12. Yeah it is. But they don't go in buns blazing right away. They spend hours talking them down, agreeing with the hostage taker, and making them feel calm. Obviously I can't just call off negotiations easily, and the odds of someone getting a good angle for a shot just doesn't happen. If I could, I would want to stop negotiations if it means teasing or killing, as soon as I can. But I should let the hostage taker get to the point where they are set up and comfortable in their position. If I spook him to soon, he'll kill the hostage, and even if we do capture him, it isn't worth a civilian dying. I'd. Rather resolve a situation peacefully if it means I have to give them my vest. But yeah, that's off topic I now realize. Love Olympus, I just wish valuing another persons live should be a rule. RP could bend that, but I think that would make for better situations. Won't happen, but would be nice if it did.
  13. I'm saying, if I see a guy retrained, and someone's next to him saying he's got a hostage and he'll kill him if I try to shoot him. Then I ain't shoot. If I know a cop is in a position to shoot the hostage taker, I'll engage snd have him take the shot. Most of the time this has happened, I don't have anyone immediately available to take down the suspect. Irl, would a cop gun into a hostage situation and tell the guy too get on the ground? God fucking no. If someone says they have a hostage, then I treat it as though I'm now a negotiator. It may not be a rule, but if you were to tell a cop to value civilian lives, I think many would be more careful with what they do.
  14. Yeah, who knows. We'll find out in a couple days if he gets banned or not.
  15. True, but it sounds like there wasn't even a fight. He just got engaged and saw a guy with a gun in a field and shot him. If it was a fight and he was Right in the middle and was aiming at you, then different story. By the sound of it. You would have rdm'd him, and should offer comp. Smart to ask, and figure out what might be wrong btw. most people are dumb and know they rdm'd the person, but then just say 'fuck it'
  16. Hard situation, but you have to get confirmation that he is engaged. You can get reported for that as rdm. If you haven't already, I would comp him his money for his load out, or something. but you may get banned.
  17. See, I don't want to teach RP 'excuses'. That's why those training's didn't work. I want to teach how to RP. I want to teach people how to come up with new ideas from things they see around the map. And things That might happen IRL. If someone says they have a hostage, for example, I'm going to attempt to negotiate with them, wait till they're ready and comfortable. If they're in a situation they're not going to be comfortable in, they're going to be antsy and more likely to want to kill the hostage.. If the hostage taker feels in control, he's gonna be more relaxed. I see cadets who just run up, engage, start shooting, and get the hostage killed. When i ask why they did that, he said he didn't send an apd message. Like, that's dumb. don't be a walking handbook, who only does things if it's in the handbook. I forget where I heard it, but this is a great quote "Good RP can bend all rules in handbook". Basically, dont give excuses for people to use, come up with your own. create something unique. that no one else does.
  18. Fake. But still fucking hilarious
  19. Memes.
  20. whenever I'm on cop, I like to sit in and listen throughout the processing. Then cadets force themselves to do and practice processing and rping, knowing that if I think they are about to fuck up, I can intervene. I see a lot of corps+ sit outside and listen, but then if something goes wrong, the cadet or whoever gets punished. Obviously if they're being looked at for promo then you should be sneaky. But new cadets need a lot of guidance. Ex. Early early Sunday morning, a new cadet, or so he claims, completely forgot to seize the guts weapon, and forgot to read charges, i wasn't with him cause I was processing another person, and there was one more after that, but I get called in by the cadet, was told that he didn't do a lot of stuff. I could clearly see that he still had his gun but had received a ticket. I asked the cadet before I did anything. He said he messed up, and he knew it, which is good I guess, so I asked the guy if he wanted comp and a pardon, he was only wanted for 50 something thousand, and he said he just wants to see that the cadet knew what he did. Luckily, it was resolved well and the guy was a good sport about it. Just shows you how cadets need guiding and to be taught the basics of rping while processing and not processing. I've had and seen a couple experiences like this, and it happens far too often when there isn't a corporal+ on. Nearly all the corps and up handle the situations well and resolve them... but just cause it's resolved doesn't mean someone didn't fuck up. I just want to see some sort of better guidance. I also will not name names, cause that's how rumors start, and fuck rumors. I hear em' far too often on cop. Yeah, I can try to. Kind of hard to, condideering I'm a constable, and I don't have nearly as much experience as corps and seniors. Now, I'd love to help guide them if their was a training. A senior or two, myself, maybe a corp or two, that would be a good training, assuming people attended. I can try, might message you mcdili just to get info on what you guys like to see, what you don't like, etc. if any senior wants to do a training, I'd love to help out.
  21. 1. Sounds exaggerated cause I suck at storytelling. But that is about 100% accurate as to what happened. 2. Ididnt report the other manslaughter cause technically it wasn't self defense, it was crossfire and didn't mean to kill him, he just ran in front of me. 3. They heard someone shout hands up or die, then I killed the person. They witnessed me shooting, but they said that they couldn't prove that who I killed initiated on me. Like, who else was around, no one. 4. Not saying I want them removed, besides, give people the benefit of the doubt. They may not have been having a good day. I also haven't had many repeat 'offenders'. But multiple cops have had this attitude of "I don't give a shit what you say" and it's partly their personality, and maybe that they simply don't know how to rp, or do it well. I think a rp training for newer players, or anyone that wants to do it, should be held every weekend for an hour or half an hour. You could even put incentive to go. You go twice and you get a good note saying you're trying to improve. I don't really know, but I do think there should be some guidance. Most cops are thrown right in the middle of the jungle with no past experience, and I think they should get a small amount of help.
  22. Not socio... but, I have an idea as it has happened to me, or I've experienced the I don't believe you story. Prepare to read an essay. I wrote this and realize it's really fuckin long. several times I've been detained by a constable or cadet, and in these situations I have been in a good mood and rp some more. I was driving through Kavala, over 100k bounty, no cop kills, 3 manslaughter, and other crap. I had just respawned to my house and grabbed the loadout I had. As I'm driving by I see a cadet and constable. A corporal was nearby, as I'd seen him a couple minutes earlier. I had rebel clothes and a mk18 and drove to hospital. While im healing the constable and cadet come to hospital, I saw them coming and put my gun in my car quickly. They come in and go to get healed, using good rp not to engage me. I hop in my car and put my gun in its slot. Then a rook-banger comes up and engages me loudly. If the cops were closer I wouldn't have hopped out and shot him, but they weren't that close to me. The cops start running over but I had already hopped out and started shooting. I killed him and the cops engaged me and I surrendered as I had to reload anyway, and wouldn't win the fight cause they were on opposite sides of me, and I also saw the corporal rolling into hospital. they bring me to HQ, and check my licenses and search me. Before they seize my gun, which technically is illegal, I ask that it not get seized, since I willfully surrendered and used it for self defense. I admitted to two of the previous murders, and told them that the third original murder was crossfire and that the guy ran in front of me as I was shooting a guy. The corporal came in and started listening, but didn't say anything other than telling the cadet to do what he wants. I ask to get two murders taken off and to keep my gun since I had only used it for self defense of that one guy. I rp' my respawn as I had just gotten into my summer home in Kavala, and was about to go hunting in the north woods, and was meeting up with my dad. and that I reside in Sofia for the majority of the year. (Sofia is vx'). The cadet then asked what happened at hospital, and I explained exactly what happened and I explained the guy came up with his gun, engaged me, and because they were too far away to react quick enough, so I shot him. He was about 15 meters away at hospital on the other side of the glass, impossible he couldn't have heard me. But no... in HQ he says that they were running to leave the hospital, and they heard someone engage someone else, but apparently since they can't prove that the guy I killed was the one who engaged me that I couldn't get that reduced. I said, "if I killed him in cold blood, why would I voluntarily surrender and not put up a fight." Btw, corporal still hasn't said anything or moved, when I asked to speak to him directly, he didn't respond and instead just ran out of the room. The cadet says the corporal was busy and didn't care. The cadet says, whatever bro, I'm seizing your gun since it's illegal, and I sighed but knew that he can do that. I ask if I can get some charges dropped. I quote cadet: "I don't give a shit, and now I'm gonna have the corporal add as many charges as possible because you're resisting me and not being compliant". They add all they can add and because they didn't value my 15 minutes of rp and truth, I didn't pay the ticket. Before I got sent to jail the cadet says see you later douche. I messaged the corporal about this unnecessary use of vulgar language, and the corporal says shut the fuck up, you're annoying. fuck this is like an essay, apologize for that, but yeah... cadet just didn't value rp, and didn't really acknowledge things that I told him, he just dismissed everything and continued. Hope this provides some insight as to how processing happens when seniors aren't on and cops just don't rp at all. This is type of thing has happened quite often, once every three times I'm caught. It's really irritating, especially since when I got trained, I was told to always try and give them the benefit of the doubt if they work to provide solid rp and if they didn't harm cops or anything like that. I've tried to always follow that guideline. Seeing the cadet just not rp, and just listen and ignore me was just frustrating.
  23. Would be nice to have a once a week rp session. Maybe 30 minutes or 45. Would be nice to see them get a little bit of guidance. they shouldn't get much because part of getting promoted is 1. Knowing rules well. And 2. Being good at processing, which means they need to have some ok rp skills during processing.
  24. I like it. Cadets a lot of times are newer to the server and don't know much rp or even how to. I think a once a week on the weekend rp training should be a must. They need to learn the basics of rp, and some small tips to handle people who give the shitty rp or who just scream they're gonna report you.
