  1. You can use google maps on Lemnos to find driving trip distances between different spots. Just multiply by 0.75 to get the in-game distance. At one point I figured out that whoever designed the legal runs (as they are now) seems to have tried to balance distance and payoff a bit (except plat and iron which are especially bad deals).
  2. Yellow text on white background (community team handbook) is almost unreadable.
  3. I think maybe too many people are playing as APD, not enough as civ. It's totally understandable - APD is like a gang that never goes inactive, there are playtime guidelines to meet, and new players aren't at a disadvantage. I'd like to see a discussion about what the optimal APD % on the server is. My feeling is something like 20-25% of the total population.
  4. I just noticed, but I like the new logo that's on the banner here. Never understood what a console controller had to do with Arma3....
  5. A step in the right direction for sure.
  6. The first one is an absolute classic. 2&3 are entertaining, but flawed -- I really don't like what the writers did with all of the cheesy parallelisms. Crispin Glover declining to participate surely didn't help.
  7. OK so I pulled the trigger, upgraded from 7 to 10, and so far so good. Biggest noticeable difference is that 10 seems less wonky when atl-tabbing.
  8. Any more details? Driver issues? I've read that upgrading from 8 is a no-brainer and it's the 7 vs 10 decision that is closer to a wash right now.
  9. I'm still putting off upgrading to Windows 10, mostly because of "if it isn't broken don't fix it", but I'm curious: http://strawpoll.me/5744691
  10. I really like the smell of the hype train revving its engines up, even if it hasn't left the station. New medic stuff is amazing - SUV makes so much more sense than the unresponsive, failure-prone offroad. Delivery missions are great. New APD uniforms look great (no more jeans). I *think* I'm getting more frames too.
  11. So hard to unlearn bad habits from Battlefield...

  12. Rumors...
  13. Awesome. Hopefully in new updates we get some more reasons to be in the water.
  14. I passed the flight test! (barely)  I don't think you can possibly come closer to almost finishing and then failing than I did.

  15. Please tell us more about this big update, you know, the way that real game studios tease their subscriber bases. I like having something to look forward to.
  16. Yo quiero APD forum access por favor.

Gary, you want tacos or nachos? You have to decide what it is you want! :)

  17. Best place I've lived is NYC. There's nothing else like it.
  18. 99% sure that's not against the rules: if lethals are triggered for anyone, they're triggered for everyone corporal or higher. Right?
  19. "If a given Corporal (or higher) has experienced two deaths while attempting to resolve a given situation using non-lethal rounds, loading lethal rounds is permitted." MUCH clearer and less ambiguous.
  20. Handbook material.
  21. So, if you're correct about this, the definition of "failed attempt" is, precisely, "died trying". Can anyone else confirm? If so it should probably be phrased this way in the handbook. The reason I see some ambiguity in "failed attempt" is that I can foresee a situation where a suspect temporarily outruns APD and goes out of visual contact... if/when APD catches back up would it be considered a separate "attempt"?
  22. Well right away, it's pretty apparent that I'm definitely not the only one here who is hazy on this. Does using lethals ALWAYS mean that there's been a situation that required waves? If not, what other sorts of situations? What is the definition of "a failed attempt."?
  23. So I've been studying the APD handbook for a while now, and one of the areas I don't feel comfortable with is when the APD can use lethal force, particularly outside the context of jailbreaks and fed robberies. Could someone knowledgeable please describe a few non-fed/jail scenarios where APD can load lethals? Also, I see a potential conflict between the 3:1 rule for lethals, and the 3:1 rule for surrendering -- how does that work out?
