How long does it typically take ban appeals to be looked at?

It always varies. Also depends on the specific staff member. I would give it a few days. If all else fails, message @Grandma Gary or @Peter Long

What's the point of the appeal then, considering most bans are a "few days" long?

If the ban isnt lifted and you get banned in the future, you wont have this ban on your record. So, its always good to appeal every ban because you never know when you may get it lifted and save yourself from a longer future ban.

Nobody requests a ban for that, they request a ban so they can play the game again, and with this wait time appeals are deprecated.

Ban appeals are usually answered within the same day they are submitted. Not sure why Rex said wait a few days.
