Change rules to not allow destruction of event vehicles

Recommended Posts

Make it similar rule to VDM- you can blow up vehicles at a fed at your own risk, but if you blow up a vic that has gear/gold/money bags/pharma in it, you're liable for comp.

1. Destroying event vehicles is too easy for how big of an impact it has, due to the predictable structure and nature of events.

The only purpose of the rules regarding RVD is to prevent excessive griefing- otherwise RVD would not be against the rules.

1. This kind of change follows that precedent.

2. There's really no reasonable reason to allow events to be RVD'd/griefed and skirting the rule by saying "people were near it" because you are required to be near/in the vehicle per the event.

It's currently not allowed

you would think, because it's common sense

what? IIRC the rpg rule only applies to the apd escort truck?

because it would be just AWFUL if senior apd could be griefed after investing time/money into their event 🙄

Okay... Let me clarify - if you're just blowing up an event vehicle to blow up an event vehicle, with no one around then that's RVD. If there's someone inside it or whathaveyou, then you can blow it up no problem, provided that you are engaged, etc. Of course you can't blow up an APD escort truck or use explosives in the gang base skirmish, unless you want a ban.

Are you saying that you'd want it so that you can't even blow up vehicles like the pharma truck, gold truck, etc?

@ Peach Collector If that's the case why don't we make rules that APD and any other gangs are not aloud to interfere with the gold truck from fed after bomb is blown? Quit looking to make unnecessary rules and get better.

Yes, because the nature of events require you to be in/around the vehicle to transport loot and have a predictable, fixed location/path. It is realistically near impossible to prevent if someone has the desire to blow it up.

Such as Sov camping 200% with an explosive charge planted at the dropoff point sitting in the water. Or Mako standing on top of Telos dome lobbing RPGs inside the main dome after timer blows. What is the expectation- that every time you do pharma you bring an SDAR and wetsuit, clear a 600m radius of water plus all the land around the dropoffs before driving up while fighting cops and other roaches after having already spent 15 minutes driving/fighting? Or to control fed + every pixel of angles in a 1km radius around fed and prevent anyone from interacting with the dome door? It's simply not healthy gameplay.

With how expensive gold trucks are and considering there is little to no counter play on a guy that can just rpg a big ass truck bc someone is driving it while being attacked by APD, could make it a rule that you have to be at war with the gang doing a fed to blow them up. Gives a bit of a choice. Shouldn't be losing 10 mil to 9 warpoint ammunition. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think it would make fights between people countering and doing a fed a little more interesting considering they have to actually fight to get anything or ruin the fed.

Allowed*

You dont even do feds so idk why you're typing.

How about roaches get better and actually engage in combat instead of being confrontation-avoiding weirdos

That kid goes after new players doing legal runs.  I go after the largest gangs on the server. WE ARE NOT THE SAME.

Don't make me defend Jpostman. Jpostman will actually shoot you with a gun and give you a chance to retaliate. He also actually steals what he's robbing.

You, Aegis, and other weirdos will destroy an event for the sole purpose of preventing someone else from getting it in the most uninteractive and avoidant way possible. Explosives have their uses, and ending an event + costing players tens of millions of dollars and hours of their time with no ability to defend/retaliate should not be one of them.

And this is soooo misleading.  I've literally never blown up a pharma.  Just the people around it.

I could see reducing explosive damage for vehicles that have gold, pharma trucks, etc so they take multiple hits to blow up, much better than adding a rule in my opinion.

If there's gonna be third partying of events I personally would prefer it to be from someone who wants to loot the event and not just grief

yeah make people work a bit harder to blow it up and gives the people with the truck more of a chance
