Not sure if it's a function in PHP but in Java you can define method and its function by doing
/**
* This method checks if A is Equal to B, if it is it will execute Y because H and D are the appropriate values
*/
if(a==b && b<h) { execute D.exe; }
Very important thing with ANY coding is readability, if you show me the code I should be able to know what it does
