Hey just want to give a huge shoutout to everyone and say thank you! I made the go fund me more as a meme but yall went and donated a total of 75 dollars. I bought the new cod and have something else to do while being up all night with my new daughter.
On another note I would have bought it myself but me and my girlfriend are in a bit of a financial struggle as we are about to make a purchase on a new house and we are both out on PFL for work (meaning we get paid a little less than what we are used to)
But again I cant thank everyone who donated enough!

What is being overlooked here is that new parents and those surrounding them are completely hyper fixed on baby needs and basic necessities being met often forgetting that self care is a vital part of being able to withstand and manage the stresses of bringing a new life into the world. I totally get and respect not spending your own money on something for yourself, especially, during this time. From the sounds of it you have things well in hand as you look forward to purchasing a home soon. Seems not only logical but smart to advocate for something for yourself as your well meaning friends were already looking for a way to celebrate and support you!
Tldr; video games are self care and it's okay to tell your friends what you want for gifts in a time of celebration,regardless of the reason.
