FPS Boost, And Thoughts??

I currently have a i7 4790k with a gtx 950 ssc, and I just bought a 1080

just wondering what my fps boost would be if you can respond and give me a estiment that would be great thanks:)

Probably nothing more than ~10 fps I bet. ArmA is a CPU intensive game, if you want more fps then you need a high end CPU.

I went from a 960 to a 1080 and in all honesty my fps only increased by like fucking 5

a good tip is to turn off v sync.Made a tremendous impact on my game ever since.Setting things like shadows to low also helps.

Arma is cpu intensive, NOT gpu. I would expect sub 5 fps gain from that switch.

 As stated you'll need a cpu upgrade to make a noticeable difference.

Just because its a CPU intensive game doesn't mean a big upgrade to other parts will make next to no difference. 

I had a 760, no SSD, with 16gb ram and an i7-4790k and got around 60 on medium to high.

Now i have a 1070 OC, 32gb ram, SSD and the same processor and get around 80 - 100 on very high while fighting cartels.

Makes a big difference.

Putting arma on a ssd helps so much with stuttering/freezing but if you really want a fps boost overclock that i7

I can confirm that the CPU is being attacked. I had to overclock by 800mhz to offset this assault.

How would I do so and does it harm it by any chance I believe it does but I haven't looked in it CPU overclocking

you dont need to overclock that processor if you have that graphics card + ssd as well lol... But i mean if you want to there is plenty of tutorials on yt

Arma is a CPU intensive game that prioritizes single threads, if you can OC then you'll notice quite a drastic performance.
