  2. It's a safety measure to prevent script kiddies from initializing certain variables before joining the server. Arma is buggy though and sometimes carries variables and other stuff from previous sessions/servers over to the new server you join which triggers spyglass and sometimes battleye.

my question is more of an APD higher up question... when we pull applications to the APD. is there a way we can get around asking for their email to view their tickets. meaning when i do interviews do am i really going to have to ask them their email AND ticket id just to make sure they were approved for the interview?

when i tried to report a player under the new ticket system i click verify steam id it then takes me to this error page: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/

do i put my steam id in the box or my arma id

POTP will forever be on top unless virus just puts his money in his gang.

  7. You don't give cops tickets and add charges to them when they act up, you report them so they can get punished / de-whitelisted. Medics are the same. You report them and they will be punished. The ticketing/jail system is designed for civilians.
  8. Groups are now added, test them out on the dev server. These are not to be confused with gangs.

  9. Gangs will be wiped when next update rolls out - come test out new gang system

  10. Workin hard on dem gangs. In the redone version you'll be able to withdraw money from the gang bank.

  11. Ranks will be added when I recode gangs. Along with many other things.
  12. Bojo the butcher, oh lawd!

I was looking at making a server for it, but it's still too buggy and laggy. I really like the game but it'll have to wait :P

  14. We have half as much staff as some other similarly sized servers, we do what we can. If you don't like it here then find a new server, sorry bud.
  15. The support/ticket system overhaul will be finished up tomorrow, got most of the stuff done today: http://i.imgur.com/OGOdBTG.png

What about the tickets we put in before this? I tried to view mine and it gives me an error message

  16. Support/Ticket section is under maintenance and may or may not be available. It will probably still work just as usual, or not.

ermagherd thought I broke the whole site there for a while. 2 reboots fixed it though, phew. I don't know wtf I did, but it broke the sql server for a bit xD.

Best option Poseidon is to just setup an .htaccess file pointing /forum/ -> /

    3. Poseidon

      Poseidon

Yea good idea, i was gonna just make a /forum/ directory and inside have index.html with a redirect to /index. But .htaccess is probably the better way to go

    4. Poseidon

      Poseidon

yea .htaccess was not a good idea for me. Frickin 301 redirects get cached and even if you remove em from .htaccess users still get redirected. #rekt. Just used a simple php redirect and it works just as good.

  20. Server 2 is running an experimental performance build of arma, lemme know if you see anything different.

it'll be down for up to 8 hours, our server provider had to null route the IP to prevent disrupting other customers at the data center. Was a fairly large attack it seems. Script kiddies in servers and now ddos, great week right?

  21. Just installed tapatalk and set it up, can someone test it out?
  22. Yea I see the plugin they made: https://tapatalk.com/activate_tapatalk.php?plugin=ipb I'll look into it and get it installed.
  23. Probably thursday. I rolled it out for a brief moment on server 3 but there was issues. Changes have been made to hopefully resolve those issues and it was planned to come out today, but there were too many server issues with hackers.
  24. It's fine for them to play it, they're just messing around seeing what it's like over there. But from what our staff has said so far they prefer Olympus over A3L any day. What I think about it? Well I remember seeing those youtube videos of it way back in the day, it looked great, and had a lot of unique/nice features. They had a good developer who looked like he really knew what he was doing, and he was making some cool stuff. When I seen the quality of those features at that time it made me think about the future of other non modded altis life servers, in particular if there would be a demand for the non modded servers at all. But from what I heard that developer left at some point, taking with him a lot of the nice features he had made. After that I saw the overall quality of the project decrease and was no longer worried about a decrease in demand for regular altis life servers, as plenty of those nicely made features that I once saw were gone along with the developer who had made them. I currently have not played on their current server, nor have I applied. I've only seen the videos and heard stuff from other people. But from what I've seen they use a modified version of Tonics altis life code (just like we do), use a ton of public made mods, and have a bunch of cool looking cars. The main thing that sets them apart from other servers is the car mods, the hype, and publicity streamers/youtubers give them.
  25. Just a reminder, keep the thread civil. There's a lot of hate against A3L over on the bis forums, I don't want that coming over here.
