Very weird well shit happens i'm not sure if you could repeat what happened to see if there is a fix to it, if not it's just bad luck on my part.

This happens to me a lot... This isn't a new bug. Most of the time when this happens is if I get two kills extremely quickly (back to back) or I trade with someone.

Is overclocking dangerous, years ago it was said to decrease the life span of your gpu but is it still like that now?

I'm using the msi afterburner and just increasing the clock speed by small amounts and stress testing it, and it seems be working out fine thanks!
If you're just overclocking GPU with afterburner you have nothing to worry about as long as you don't mess with voltage.

Overvolting in MSI afterburner is disabled by default so you cant even move the slider for it. You have to go to settings and then enable it manually and it does give you a warning stating that unless you know exactly what you are doing do not use this feature. So unless you somehow accidentally enable this and then start turning your gpu voltage up you will be 100% fine.
Just go up gradually on the Core clock and slightly less on the memory clock (memory clock does not matter that much anyway) until you get it to the point where its not to hot and it will still launch games/benchmarks. I recommend going up +20 on the core clock at a time and then run a stress test like FurMark for 10-20 min to level out your temps and ofc to see if it even works to launch it. http://ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ <---- Furmark
Then after you have it overclocked to where you want it to be let the furmark stress test run for anywhere between 1h to 2h to double check that its stable. ofc if it crashes or your temps get to hot then turn the core clock down.
