  1. It's hard to enforce a rule like this unless we see something that shows a player obviously using the tilda key. With being an APD member you are whitelisted and suppose to try and Rp as much as possible. As it is not a server rule it is still an APD guideline and will effect a player getting promoted, demoted, removed, ect if they are caught doing it.
  2. This is part of RP'n and as stated above the Chief wants APD to have an actual reason to arrest someone versus just tilda tab'n there name. Now while it may not result in a ban it will play a factor in player receiving promotions and whatnot. Regarding the hacker bomb, I went through and I'm pretty sure I took care of the players in questions.
  3. No bases will ever be permanent but if anything it would be a nice extension to the time. The reason for this is even donators decide to quit playing games at times and if there gone for an extended period of time then they most likely will not be coming back. Again nothing in stone regarding this but I'm sure this would be one of the perks if we were able to do it.
  4. We will not add in any long range scopes or weapons. Granted some people are able to make use of the currents ones for longer ranges but our intention is to stay in the short to medium range style guns/scopes. We don't want sniper type rilfes/scopes on the servers. There simply OP and don't add much to the RP value of things. When the DLC comes out we will be adding a couple to the servers. As to which ones I can't say off hand. The uniforms will most likely also be added in at some point as there isn't anything broken in a sense regarding them.
  5. Currently when you donate you are donating to Olympus. This includes anything we have setup and going. All donations are used to help pay for the services we offer to players. While you may donate and only receive perks for the AL servers it is still a donation to Olympus as a whole. With that said as of right now we don't have anything solid in the works in regards to perks for Wasteland. I did speak with Poseidon about this last night as well and right now it isn't a major issue as wasteland is a pretty straight forward mod. Down the road once we have everything running smoothly for both gamemodes then we might add in some sort of donations system for Wasteland perks. We are also looking into the ability to add some sort of persistent gang/group system possibly. It's just an idea that is being discussed but nothing is in stone regarding it yet.
  6. Depending on the type of server your trying to get setup its best to refer back that mod mains website. For example Altis Life has alot of info on its forums if that is your pleasure same with Wasteland. The first place to always start is the main website as most info can be found there. If you using a dedicated server then you will also need to setup the firewall and whatnot to allow certain connections. If your just wanting to play with a few friends then it is just best to setup a local game as it doesn't require much to setup.
  7. If Ace has said not to do it then simply don't do it. The goal is to add more Rp to the server not less. By just using the tilda key when a player ins't breaking any laws at that time is just fail RP. I mean we could always go back to an old way were if it isn't seen then no tickets are given. If a crime isn't witnessed then they wouldn't be wanted for anything. Now would it be better to have it that way or leave it the way it is? I think most would agree to leave it the way it currently is as APD would make no kind of income while playing. With that we want people to RP and not just act like a robot pulling over anyone just because they are on a list. If there breaking the law then do your thing. If there just walking down the street not doing anything wrong then don't just chase em down because there wanted. Have a reason such as there jaywalking, ect before you do it so it adds to the RP value.
  8. Enough back on topic or say nothing at all.
  9. So gonna add my weekly 2 cents in regarding the podcast for everyone. Gonna try and stay in order of what was talked about from the recording. Tazer round damage was reduced by half as opposed to pre-wipe. This means that all taze rounds should take roughly double the amount of shots to taze someone. A pistol (P07) should require more shots then an MX does and much more then a 7.62. Armor is calculated by Arma when it comes to shots as well. If someone has the best gear on then it will take more shots to down someone as opposed to someone with no gear. Arma is a bit goofy as well when it calculated players in a vehicle and this is something that we don't have control over. This was done as before you could 1 shot taze someone and this simply was unfair to players as even the 7.62 rounds required at least a couple solid shots before bringing someone down. Arma does most of the calculations when it comes to any shots fired. The only thing we can adjust is the multiplier of damage. What I mean is Arma decides how much a chest shot is worth vs a leg shot. We can't change these types of values so if Arma sees it as a leg shot when in fact it was a chest shot then it is something that needs to be changed on the Arma end of things not on the server end. With that said we can still adjust the amount of damage, multiplier, the tazers do but they will not return to the previous damage they did pre-wipe. The prices of guns, items, ect was in fact not changed. The pricing was left the same as pre-wipe meaning APD as well as Civs still pay the same amount for weapons. The issue lies more with the fact APD are losing there weapons atm at times but that is a bug vs something that was meant to be. We are working on a way to fix this. It also doesn't seem to be every APD member having this issue only certain ones, so we have to narrow down what is causing the issue. Once that is fixed then APD shouldn't have to worry about repurchasing weapons as it was in the past. Vehicle pricing however was adjusted a bit. R&R & News vehicles do cost less then the Civ/APD variant and as such I have added the suggestion to adjust APD vehicle prices to our fixes. Titan damage was done in a way that is does a specific amount of damage to a Heli now whereas before it would just destroy it on impact. Each Heli has it's own amount of Armor as well as fuel amount. A heli with more fuel and higher armor will be able to take more hits then a Heli with no armor and little fuel capacity. Now if I remember correctly when a titan is fired it will do between 50-75% damage with a chance of a fuel leak. The next shot will do roughly the same but as damage has already been done it will take and calculate using the remaining amount of damage as well as the fuel leak. Depending on what part was damaged from the titans will dictate if the Heli is forced to land or not. With a GH it has a large fuel tank so it will take longer for it to leak fuel vs a smaller Heli. Armor is also calculated into the mix so again the damage will be lower on a GH vs a M900 persay. On average it should take no more then 3 well placed shot to take out any Heli currently in play. The newest R&R rules were put in place to add a bit more to the R&R role. It was added to add a bit more value to there lives vs before. Before if an R&R was taken hostage that R&R member could be the deciding factor if a battle went on for 45 minutes or only a couple minutes. For Civ vs Civ one side could have an R&R member that could constantly revive but the Civs on the other end could do nothing to that R&R member. For APD vs Civ once again nothing could be done to a R&R member. It was a double standard in a sense, since the rules stated you could only kill a R&R member if they went against your directives but at the same time if they were a hostage or Volunteer and told not to do something they still could. It just simply wasn't fair that it was so lop-sided. So we discussed it and still wanted it to be hard to kill a R&R member but the option at least would be allowed under hostage situations. The rules were put in place to give warnings and allow members from either side to take out a R&R member if needed. Sgt's and higher are suppose to be the ones who help with training the lower rank APD members. Seniors have this responsibility and is something they should always be open to showing if someone has a question. Seniors have the ability to try and schedule a training session if they feel one may be needed. Seniors also can have the lower ranks shadow them if they like to get a better idea of how to handle things, again however this is up to that specific senior APD member. So with that if a Senior member wants to do some training they are more then welcome to, they do not need to wait for the Chief to make a meeting. As long as they are teaching the lower ranks the correct way of doing things then it only helps. There currently are no limits on how many Sgt's or lower there can be at a given time. Yes the admins see much more then most players think. While we don't always see everything we do eye-spy when we are able. If you want to practice Heli training there is a workshop addon that anyone can use. It does not have the mods but it is better to learn to fly them at default then it is modded out. If you can fly a slow clunky Heli then you will in most cases be able to fly a modded one much easier. This is a single player mission and can be restarted as many times as you need. It gives a crash course on flight, landing, ect. Check the following link if your interested - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=192094335 The Ghosthawk rules themselves will remain the same. They have a very strict rule-set and as long as players are following these rules then we won't need to change the rules that have been in place for months. Now in regards to players with access to these vehicles we also expect them to not and try to skirt around the rules and try to find loopholes. If a person who has gone through the ranks decides they are going to try and get around the rules then they will simply be removed. Any player with access to this vehicle through there garage should have enough common sense to know when certain things are ok and when there not. I'll use the example where APD has been patrolling rebel bases without a vehicle ground unit. We didn't have the word vehicle in there as it was common knowledge that it meant to use a vehicle ground unit but instead of using this common knowledge APD would simply drop a single APD member off outside a rebel outpost. This is skirting the rules. Once that was changed APD members then started to sling load a vehicle to just outside the outposts, again skirting the rules when it was clear what our intentions were. As a whitelisted player we should not have to spell out each and everything in the handbook. We expect Whitelisted players, especially at higher ranks, to use good judgement and not try to go around the rules we have in place. Now with that said, I'd be much more scared or a Taru Bench loaded with Mk's then I would be of a GH any-day of the week. in redzones the GH still has to RP where Civs don't. There is just as much risk with a GH in the skies as there is a loaded Taru. GH's require 3 text messages before firing where a Taru only requires 1 if outside a redzone. There is a balance between risk vs reward. If your able to pull off an illegal run then great but we want players to feel like there is a huge risk to doing them types of runs. In the past a player could make a meth run, have little risk but reap the rewards. This simply broke the economy and that is part of the reason we did the wipe. Yes part of playing the game is making money but the bigger part is for the RP. What is the point of making large amounts of money when your not going to use the money? With the risk factor in the game atm you are taking a big risk but if you succeed it feels good. Now if your a player who just wants to play for the money factor then you will most likely never be happy as that is not the intention of the server. Some days are going to be better then others. Some days your going to make money while other days your going to lose money. If you want to be safer then doing legal runs are the route to go. You will make less but the risk is also much lower. If you want to rake in the cash then the risk is going to be much higher.
  10. We roll bans off after so long. As for how long it is I won't say but it is done. If you have been on the server say 7 months and received 2 bans the first month in but then haven't received a ban until 4-5 months later the next ban will not be like a 3rd strike. Since you haven't received a ban in 4-5 months it will, in most cases, be a normal 3-4 day ban. We do understand players make mistakes and that is why we give multiple bans before we issue a permanent ban. At the same time we have all of our rules posted on the website and if your going to break them then your going to get some sort of punishment. If someone breaks a rule and it effects you would you like us to just ignore it and let them get away with it? In the end just don't break rules and you will be fine.
  11. It wasn't removed from the rules because we haven't decided if it will be brought back at a later time or not. Once we make a def decision tho then we will update the rules accordingly.
  12. Stats started being tracked back on Sept 23rd. 14 hours since then is even to low. Not sure how you are even still in the R&R roster. 1680 minutes is the required amount to even get an interview. Updated, seems you were removed from R&R back in Dec. So ya 14 hours in 5+ months doesn't cut it.
  13. As said above only PO's+ can jail immediately and they can only do it when a rule has been blatantly broken. If it is something they are unsure of then they are process the player as per normal server guidelines. If you feel an APD member is breaking rules, such as jailing for no reason, then submit a player report with the proof. That player will then be dealt with. We have made it very clear if APD members are found abusing this they will get in trouble for it. Now we allow APD to do this as it doesn't ban a player but at least removes them for the time being. This was a request alot of the community asked for and so we added it in. It was a good medium if staff were not on to see the rule breakers but it was obvious players were breaking rules. So again if it is being abused report them just as you would anyone else.
  14. Glad I could be of service...lol...Now WTF was it you said again?
  15. APD may only patrol the rebel outposts with the correct amount of APD and support vehicles. If they are camping them and it is obvious then report it as with any other type of player report. As for ground units it seems some players are once again taking it literal. When the rule was made it was meant as in a vehicle ground unit not players being dropped off outside the zone. This has been added to the upcoming rule changes so this should be less of an issue. If APD are in a Ghosthawk and have sent the proper texts to a person and they refuse to stop then it falls on them if they are shot at. Only Sgt's and higher have access to the Ghosthawks so it isn't as if every APD member has one. Make sure to know there is a chance one will be around and be prepared for it. Titans do less damage to Heli's but they can still bring one down with a couple shots, again be prepared.
  16. The VIP tags are given if you donate yourself. If someone else has done the donation or you did it under a different account then it isn't linked to your account. While you will still get the perks in-game the VIP tags won't be there. Looking at your forum account it only shows $150 donated so if this is incorrect you will need to submit a ticket using the support button at the top. Poseidon will have to go in and verify the amounts and can make the needed changes at that point.
  17. If players are exploiting into crates then submit a ticket. We will take care of it from that point. Anyone found exploiting is given a permanent ban.
  18. This may be a game but there are still lines you do not cross. When people type on the interwebs you can't always know if someone is being a smartass or being for real. Everyone needs to be careful of what they say because it could be taken wrong if said in such a way that no one knows your true intentions.
  19. If you make the choice to harass someone on something pertaining to Olympus and we see it as an extreme case then a ban will be issued. We have made it clear we understand this is a game but there are still lines you do not cross. Being extremely vulgar to other players does nothing to help the servers. We have stated multiple times that if you want to be vulgar to other players then you won't be allowed back on the servers. Calling someone an "asshole" won't get ya banned but repeatedly calling someone a "fucking cunt" will.
  20. All transactions are done with US dollars since we are based in the USA. Once the proper amount has been donated then you can receive the VIP tag.
  21. Truck space is based off the vehicles base storage. A hatchback shouldn't have a base of 40 and be able to upgrade to a 140 slot. Now the more base space a vehicle has the better the upgrade will be however. The HEMMIT with 1000 slot storage can have an extra 200 added to it and that is reasonable since it is a transporting style vehicle.
  22. Just to touch base on a few things noted from the podcast just incase there were any questions... Server 3 as of right now is planned to be brought back up at some point. The testing is taking longer then intended but the plan is still to bring up the 3rd server down the road. The reason PO's can't pardon or cut bounties is because they are still in training. They are not considered a full APD member. They are given extra responsibilities already with the rank. As a Corp they have shown they know and understand the laws and rules and are trusted enough with being able to do this while lower ranks are still being watched over. PDW's didn't have any changes from our end of things. It's just the point that more players are using it vs before-hand. Tazer damage has been reduced by almost half. It should take a couple extra shots to down someone vs just hitting someone with 1 shot to down them. When players have armor it should take a bit more to take someone out. The Arma physics are done in a way that we can only adjust the damage amount they do but not based on range. Now Arma has there own calculations done when it comes to any shots being fired at different ranges but again we can't adjust that. The combat logging rules have been adjusted and will go into effect on 3-1. I spoke with Poseidon about the matter and he has given me the go ahead since he has fixed the main issue as to why we had the rule in place. Regarding medic revives, I agree there should be some way to confirm it to prevent long delays in play. Poseidon has noted there should be a change to this in the next small update. APD using lethals are a last resort and that is why there is a rule regarding them. The APD should first try to apprehend the suspects and if unable to then load lethals as they are unable to detain them with stun rounds. If we allow lethals right away then the RP aspect would be diminished. Players would also get a free ride as they would simply die and not have fear of being captured. While they would lose gear it seems players fear sitting in jail more then they do the gear loss. Each Heli will be effected differently from a titan due to tank size, armor rating, ect. Where a M900 might take only 2 hits a Taru may take 4-5. While APD don't have titans they do have the ghosthawk. Now as stated there is a limited amount of Sgts but you have to keep in mind Cops also have access to the MH-9 which allows bench seats. With 4 APD member total being able to fire they can in fact take down another Heli if done properly. APD are suppose to be law enforcement. They shouldn't have large scale weapons like rebels do since rebel weapons are in fact illegal. APD need to rely more on tactics then weapons to bring in suspects. Poseidon is looking into adjusting the escort system. No ETA as to when it may be changed but rest assure it is being looked into. As of right now we will not be putting in a rule preventing players from sling loading another vehicle and shooting from that vehicle. The typical rules however will still be in place such as the required RP and so forth. Keep in mind however if a Heli is flying around with a .50 cal and that .50 cal shoots, a titan can be used on that Heli.
  23. As Wheatkings said above we use ban history to help determine future bans. With that said if we notice a player hasn't been banned in a long time then we will in fact take that into consideration if a new ban needs to be issued. Someone who hasn't had a ban in 9 months but the last ban was 7 days will most likely still receive a short ban vs someone who has been recently banned who will receive a longer ban.
  24. You may want to send a message to one of the senior APD members. With the amount of players they have whitelisted they may have mistakenly removed you. I know they were planning on doing a cleanup of inactive players.
  25. Hades

    P2W

It allows players on a straight path to go faster, that is about all. You can use an offroad or SUV and catch a hatchback with ease in offroad situations. Hatchbacks drive extremely slow on offroad situations. Hatchback sports also tend to get loopy when you hit high speeds making it much harder to control if you start to spin out. So yes if you are on a straight road with nothing in your way you may very well outrun another player but being faster is not really game-breaking. If there was nothing else that could even catch a sport then maybe it might be an issue but as you even said, Heli's can catch them and as others have stated they've done it with SUV's and offroads. In the end they are able to be caught with vehicles that non donators have access to.
