carstensen 121 Posted August 21, 2018 Report Posted August 21, 2018 Getting this cpu soon, Is it good for arma? And how much fps do you get My specs will be I7 3770k GTX 1050 TI 8GB RAM 120GB SSD which I got my windows on 1TB hdd 1 Quote
maiko 132 Posted August 21, 2018 Report Posted August 21, 2018 no, cpu is shit. you might as well save up for an i7 4770k or 4790k and more ram and a new motherboard if you're up for it. 1 Quote
Dirty Scrubz 127 Posted August 21, 2018 Report Posted August 21, 2018 CPU is outdated, you'd want something newer and preferably be able to OC it. ARMA 3 is all about how far you can push your CPU. Quote
SPBojo 6864 Posted August 21, 2018 Report Posted August 21, 2018 I have a i5 from ages ago and i run on a steady 40 frames everywhere Quote

Toasty 1564 Posted August 21, 2018 Report Posted August 21, 2018 CPU will definitely be your bottleneck. I run a gtx 970, 16gb of ram on a ssd with a 4790k and average 50-80 frames depending on the environment. Quote
Iron J 28 Posted August 21, 2018 Report Posted August 21, 2018 (edited) 3770k will still run arma just fine. Yes it’s outdated but it was a great chip in its day, 2012-ish. Edited August 21, 2018 by Iron J 1 1 Quote

i win 1096 Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 Honestly your frames aren't going to be awful. Your minimum frames are going to be lower than someone with an 7700k obviously, but your average frames wont be in the dumpster either. 3770k has okay single threaded performance even today, just make sure Arma is on an SSD and you should be fine. Your GPU is largely irrelevant when it comes to Arma so you're fine there too. Expect 30-40 fps in Kavala with dips into the 20s. This unfortunately is pretty normal, with better hardware you can keep your minimum frames higher. Keep your graphical settings as high as possible and play around with them a little, might want to check out a few guides for optimising but basically the higher your settings the more is offloaded from your CPU to your GPU. Just don't expect to be streaming, chilling on discord with a dozen tabs open in chrome while playing at decent frames. 2 Quote
