@ David Miller Yo in the RNR Handbook it references server rules chapter 17:
"Medics may be held hostage for up to 15-30 minutes before they can request to be set free. [See clarification at 5.3 for federal events]Federal events: Medics taken hostage and utilized for a Federal Event (See Server Rules Chapter 17 regarding definition of Federal Events) should remain hostage for 30 minutes unless the medic has escaped, the medic is killed, 30 minutes has elapsed, or until the federal event bomb detonates or has been defused. Whichever situation occurs first"
and in the APD handbook there is Server Rules chapter 9, Server Rules chapter 20, Server rules chapter 13, Server Rules chapter 23

Dude, rules get amended and changed all the time but the wiki is a separate team hence the discrepancies, still, anyone with three brain cells can use context clues to figure out which section talks about what.
If you feel that strongly about it compile all the instances of references that aren't well organized and file a general inquiry support ticket so it gets sent to the wiki team, or better yet, apply and do it yourself!

18 MK-1s and Ifirts and they held the gates and raped the 4 POs and 3 Corps on!! OH MY GUESS IM GOING TO CRY AND TYPE ABOUT HOW UNFAIR THIS IS!!!!!
oh shitttt-
@ Kregii I don't know those guys so I won't denigrate them, but the rank of Cpl in the APD is given out based on a person's competence first and foremost, you can't have "combat corporals" if they'll be slugs or liabilities the other 80% of the time when there's not a fed.
Despite the forums bitching, federal events do not matter to the APD in the grand scheme, if the win rate is 20% or 75% it won't really affect the APD (but it will affect the server overall).
You can be a great armed assault 3 fragger, if you suck at working in groups, you consistently go do your own thing or you do the bare minimum you will not make Cpl.
Cpls are supposed to be deckplate leaders with a significant knowledge of APD and server rules; they're there to make sure other Jrs don't break the rules and to supervise, combat is at most 30% of the role hence why people who suck at the game get it while fraggers who do slightly above the bare minimum stagnate.

@ proud yesterday I did a fed, only two Cpls, no armor and we still had LMGs, dudes with supressors and people stacking armored clothing not to mention roaming frits.
But sure, come and cry about proportionality when most of the time you're fighting guys in T2 vests who's best rifle is single fire.
Also, the moment the tides started turning we coincidentally started getting it with disputes.
If you can't win in-game, 1v1 in support I guess.

Question?! Say I’m tased on the ground from a cop, My hatchback is behind me, I start the animation to roll over but jump in my hatchback to cancel the animation saving me from being retased. Is this exploiting?
-
Not administrative staff, but tbh, that's on the cop for being dumb lmao.
I always keep mag dumping until the person is in cuffs, I even shoot them while restraining to prevent some bullshit about "I was .3 seconds untased"
Also, how the hell did he not notice that you didn't have a giant lightning bolt above your head and were just prone instead of ragdolled?

@ Harve Thanks for the laughs, Bozo!

Congrats @ billdroid you weren't good enough for sergeant so you get corp of the month!

Does anyone have an answer to why bohemia made it so creator DLC (Prairie Fire, etc) cannot be put on servers unless all player own the DLC? Why didn't they just use the same shitty overlay effect like they did with beginning dlc of someone doesnt own it?
-
@ Metal It falls under 1 and 3.
If the new CDLC was added to the base game it would no-shit make Arma 3 163 gb.
And the licencing issue still exists, BI would have to buy out the rights to the content in the DLC and go from publisher to developer which puts more responsibility on their shoulders and would cost a lot considering the IP owners will lose the profits from the DLC sales.
It also allows the other CDLCs to possibily sue for breach of contract if the option isn't extended to them or to withdraw from the program if they feel as if BI acted unfairly towards them.
I too would love to have the content in the base game, but it's like @ Lucien said, they're paid mods with BIs blessing to incentivize large overhaul packs and to add content to a game no longer in development. The point is for them to stand alone as neat little side quests and the pricing of $8 largely reflects that.

-
There's a few reasons.
1 - size
The creator DLCs are heavy as fuck, SOGPF is more or less 31 gigs, GlobMob is 20: all the CDLCs combined will be around 70 and seeing as the base game is already 45gb it would make Arma 3 ridiculously large.
This is one of the main reasons why BI opted against full integration when the first one came out a few years ago.
2 - Technical constraints
SOGPF breaks some of the base game systems and adds some systems that are incompatible with the rest of the game such as melee.
Throwing all the CDLCs in the base game would force BI to push out new updates to accomodate all of the new systems or force CDLCs to cut content.
On that note, CDLCs were created because development on Arma 3 has stopped and the dev team is on firefighter mode (wait for issues, fix them) which makes integration antithetical to why they're a thing.
3 - Legal constraints
BI does not own the rights to the CDLC content, they are publishers rather than developers and that creates a few issues in terms full integration.
They could try and renegotiate the contract, but the devs have stated that integrating the 2035 ones while leaving the overhaul mods in the cold would be tricky from a legal perspective on top of being unfair to the SOGPF-GM-1944 teams who would lose out on the revenue from integration.

Congrats @ xsmitherz
Any chance that staff could be anyone that isn't sAPD?
-
@ silton it's really not : just don't blatantly break rules and when in doubt comp it out.
Hell, a lot of APD and SAPD members also play civ in active gangs and take part in "high risk" activities ban wise.
The difference is they know a civ ban can fuck up their APD WL so they generally follow the rules and will rectify their mistakes.
You can't do dumb shit, play aggressively and break rules because "it's only a one-day bro" and then bitch when your multiple bans for RDM/Fail RP/Combat storing keep you from getting a staff position.
I've lost count the amount of times I've dealt with players with 1000+ hours who've blatantly broke rules and refused to comp because it was going to be a short ban.
Yeah, you won't see SAPD or Sr RnR doing that shit.

Apd incompetency has ruined the servers economy. I think something needs to be done because this get getting to be outrageous.
-
If you're getting pinged by a supressed MAR10 that isn't the APD's doing (save for a certain dep chief).
Feds and Blackwaters are also supposed to be endgame events that spawn up to $30 mil out of thin air. They require previous planning and tight coordination to pull off ; they were never meant to have a high win rate and the person who came up with the myth of proportionality is stupid.
If you're consistently losing to a group where you'll usually have 6 lethals at most and everyone uses nerfed gear, the issue isn't the guys pushing your defended position with subpar gear.

It has been a while since I have done this, but feel free to comment on this status with any Gray areas that arent being addressed, rules that are being handled vastly differently per staff member, and general complaints/suggestions for staff (specifically administration)

I think the entire concept of excessive tazing could be reviewed to put in place clear rules and an upper limit.
I say this because I've once had a guy taze a PO for 3 minute straight because there were cops nearby and his friends were trying to wipe them support said it was fine.
Another time I was downed 7 times because only one guy had zipties and and he had to come over and restrain one cop at a time as we were all apread out. Support once again said it was fine because they were making an effort to restrain and had the means even though a guy sat watching me and re-tasing for 4 minutes straight and there was no active threat.
Meanwhile I've also seen cases where by all means a 4th or 5th taze would have been justifiable due to combat but support ruled against the vigi citing 3 as a hard limit.
What I'm trying to say is: excessive taser usage needs to be re-written as to give either a hard ceiling e.g. "any player tased 4 times may not be captured" or to make the application of the rule clearer "excessive taser usage is when players are tased but not restrained despite the ability to do so, excluding a lack of restraints or a server limitation on restraining".
Consequences for engagement should follow a similar rule, I don't mind saying "hands up or be shot" but it's kind of dumb how someone hearing sirens is engagement but me drawing down on them and telling them to stop moving and put their hands up isn't.
