I may be wrong but the AAF uniform you can buy at rebel it the long sleeve so the rolled sleeves can serve as a type of IFF feature for both factions, as for the helmets or vests those can't be retextured.

IMO I think this uniform is a bit too close to a civ loadout for comfort, I dig the idea of green uniforms but I think it's already easy to confuse for a civ in a split second so no need to make identification harder.
