  1. Time to flood the servers with some new EMTs...

  2. Complaints like this are a sure sign that @Dante Fleury is in fact doing an excellent, exemplary job. Keep up the great work; it would be far more worrisome if there were no complaints.
  3. 6.5 GB update has dropped.

Either that or it was a last minute thing - only popped up on dev branch yesterday. From the BI forums I got the impression that the devs liked the new camera and are frustrated with the playerbase over the whole thing, but I'm glad they relented. I can see how the new one would be better for armed helis; it's a shame they didn't provide the option to freely switch between the two cameras in-game.

Now that i can agree would be a sweet thing, having the option to switch between the two.

  4. BI is finally reverting the helicopter 3rd person camera to the way it was before the Jets update!  Good news for many of us pilots!

Supposedly it's going in with 1.72, which drops soonish?

Actually drops tomorrow, along with Malden.

  5. Buy yourself a soldering iron and watch some videos.
  6. Anyone else on Olympus play RimWorld?? Maybe we should implement the option of turning vanquished opponents into hats :P

  7. Clever ruse if the IP and phone # are both honeypots.
  8. Or maybe some attention to the existing market system to make it more relevant?
  9. Also, saying anything to the tune of "comp or ban" should be bannable.
  10. Easy way to solve this: no more in-game comp, period. Don't ask for it, don't give it out.
  11. Suicide vests for deputies.
  12. Put it in Kavala bay as the "Kavala airport". Ideally there'd be a road bridge from land to the deck of the carrier. Fixed wing planes would immediately become much more useful.
  13. My hopes for a pre-weekend heli hotfix are sliding by the minute

  14. I've been to 5 Ween shows. One of the best live acts around - those guys go on stage and play their asses off for a solid 2.5 hours every time. Of the studio albums Quebec is probably my favorite.
  15. It lets you look around (so does trackIR) but by no means makes things look/work like they did before. After flying around a bit tonight I'd say it's not unplayable but it's not the same experience and the jumpiness of it sorta ruins it a bit - total visual whiplash when trying to land, etc.
  16. Yeah I think BI really screwed the pooch on this one. Knock on wood that there's a hotfix in the next day or so.
  17. @Berg02 That's another reminder that drug dealer charges were awesome, and our new devs seem to be awesome enough to figure out how to fix them, finally. This was another piece of the legal/illegal balance that is currently missing. For anyone who wasn't around, cops used to be able to go up to a drug dealer, select "question drug dealer", and charges would automatically be added to anyone who had sold during the server cycle.
  18. IRL I agree wholeheartedly. In game, this seems like complexity without much clear benefit. I know it's been tried elsewhere, even voting on whether it's illegal or having the server's "governor" make that decision. Anyone know if this was actually fun? Anyhow, this belongs in a larger discussion about the difference between legal & illegal goods and the server economy. Do the prices of things, and the relationships between those prices, still make sense in 2017? For example, express monetary values in terms of the main commodity: loadouts. For convenience lets say a full rebel loadout costs $250k. 1 LO = $250k. Then we can express other prices in terms of loadouts. 1 revive costs 1/25 LO. A successful solo diamond run in a SUV gets you around 0.8 LO, whereas for heroin that might be more like 1.25 LO. Helis start at about 1.5 LO. Assuming a SUV diamond run takes 40 minutes, a jail term of 20 minutes then effectively charges you an opportunity cost of 0.4 LO. The numbers in that above paragraph are all estimates, but thinking about things in these terms can help to answer questions about balance, and also help players decide what sorts of risks to take.
  19. Olympus but with a technological barrier to entry that maybe results in a slightly older, more dedicated community? I would be interested.

"Dynamic vehicle loadouts" is what really jumps out at me, as far as possibilities for Olympus...

  23. Definitely the most exciting update since I came back :D
