@ KeithR Only lateral promotions exist as SPC > CPL; MSG > 1SG; SGM > CSM
Otherwise, you can have PME and promotion status at E6 and what matter is your order of merit list number, which changes each year you get evaluated for promotion, as well as how many current SFC get promoted to MSG or retire/ETS etc.
Also, you can get promoted before your PME requirement is fulfilled if you're deployed, but theres a time frame where you must meet PME requirement before being reduced.

Screenshots of on duty cops channels don't really depict the situation. There could be 9 cops in a single channel and close to half of them could be doing something different.
