Do you use the in-game zoom out feture?

I know this is probably a really stupid question and I might get flamed for it but I am honestly curious. Do any of you use the in-game zoom out feature? It's default keybinding is "-" on the num pad. I have been told by some people not to use it but then I see all of these montages of people using it. If you do use it, do you only use it during specific times (like when you need to peak a wall or something) or all the time?

If you are confused on what I am talking about here is a Gyazo of the setting in the controls.

When you play on 120 FOV you don't need it.
