Tfw we log who's in the area when a vehicle blows up...

Network lag is one of the hardest things to debug for, especially when its only present with a significant amount of people with all kinds of variables. We have been working towards alleviating the issues from the small things we can find that may be causing issues for the past 6+ months, but it does take time and clearly hasn't been perfect. From the testing and debugging procedures that we have gone through, to the actual DDoSing and hackers, we seem to have come to a conclusion on what the issues could be and will be working towards trying to fix the inherent issue. This is NOT an issue with our provider, as we have done extensive testing on the box and its network, and a "better" server host does not exist for what our server currently requires. In the end, if you think we could have solved the issues with a little bit of money or a small amount of work, it would have been done AGES ago.

A lot of performance increases have been happening lately, including @ codeYeTi taking literal hundreds of hours to completely rework and create a series of plugins that are the core of the server ONLY for performance. There are still a few issues obviously, but it's quite hard to debug when it only happens at 135+ players, the recent DDoSing, server crashes, and a current crash exploit in the engine that bohemia has been trying fix. If there were a button that said "fix it", believe me that would have been pushed ages ago. The lag is known, the issues we have are apparent, and the dev's ARE actively trying to alleviate them. I know I spent a few hundreds of hours looking into it, combing through every piece of code I could find, which led me to a few small things, but clearly not enough.

The toxicity is 100% just as bad as ever though!

Given the holiday increase in server population and hosting issues, we will temporarily open server 2 between 6pm to midnight (eastern time) for the next few days. On days when conquest is scheduled, the server will be open after conquest finishes (typically between 8pm to 9pm eastern time). We expect that server population will decline moving out of the holidays, and we will return to a single server when appropriate. Items in houses can be transferred to server 1 using the "house transfer" button. Items not transferred by the time we return to one server can be compensated to a server 1 house via a compensation request.

Not entirely sure about the armed vehicle pull prices, but the smoke change is fairly nice. And you're saying we don't ban people for cheating? That's interesting, considering I alone have 20+ cheater bans in the past 2 weeks. Other than me, there have been quite a few other scripting bans that have been handed out by various staff members. People help out where they are able, but they're obviously not going to be able to catch everyone.

The reason it does this is due to you probably scrolling over side chat when you try to go to direct. This will automatically force it to default to group to prevent people from exploiting and yelling in side chat.

Few things. "Better servers" is completely subjective. I personally, despite the current issues we are trying to combat and even if I were not staff here, prefer Olympus to any other Altis Life server. Maybe that's due to me playing here forever or what-not, but I digress. For the banning people because we *think* they're going to cheat or whatever... That just doesn't happen. When someone is suspected of scripting, they will ask around about it and the situation surrounding it. I go through and investigate to determine what our course of action should be and either find they were, or not. The ONLY time someone is banned for cheating and stays banned is when we have proof that they were. Even if people don't think they were, chances are if they stay banned, they were in fact cheating. In response to your complaints about "firing my employees" and the girlfriend thing... What are you even on about? Staff don't get removed very often, and players definitely aren't comparable to an employee or girlfriend. If you're trying to say that people get banned for no reason for "unfair" reasons as you put it, that's quite untrue. Someone breaks a rule, they get banned and if they didn't, they don't get banned. Sure there may be mistakes, but everyone is human and are capable of mistakes. These also usually get resolved quite quickly. To end this off, if you have general implements for the server that aren't "get rid of staff" or similar, and may actually have a constructive impact on issues, we do encourage these ideas. However, if it's some content that you're trying to get added, the developers are overwhelmed as it is so it may take time to implement.

Little bit late to the party, but I'll give my 2 cents anyway. The staff team works in the best interest of the server and its community. There can be people who are swayed by personal interests and bias, but those few cases are monitored by other staff and we internally discuss those issues to rectify them. Power hungry isnt really what I would call any of our staff either, more along the lines of getting tired of dealing with toxic people all-day every-day, which results in our standards of what we constructively respond to, to be lower. I don't see anything inherently worse with Ryan's time as owner, as opposed to say Ares or any previous owners time. The staff team way back when had really no idea what they were doing minus Gary and select others, where as Ryan has worked with our Senior staff to weed out the toxic/biased staff in order to make the server a better place. Most people don't see how much effort really goes into this community, or into attempting to make sure people have as seamless an experience as we can provide. All in all, if you think there is an issue with staff or some staff member is giving you an issue, instead of publicly posting about it, make a general inquiry for it and ask for an admin or senior admin. The reported person will be evaluated based on what you provide as well as any evidence we may find, and will be talked to accordingly.
