APD Handbook Update 7/3/18

This rule change will be effective as of the upcoming development update (June rewards/July update)

Chapter IX - Searches and Seizures

1. Warrants

   1. Raid Warrant

      1. Raid Warrants allow officers to enter a premises solely for the purpose of capturing a criminal and removing them.

         1. Corporals Patrol Officers and higher can issue Raid Warrants. If issued by a Patrol Officer or higher, the issuing Officer must be present.

         2. The Officer that received the Warrant must state that the home will be raided before exercising the Warrant.

Chapter XIII - APD Equipment & Ground Vehicles

1. APD Tools

   1. The SDAR can be used by POs+ without approval of a Sergeant as long as the suspect is in the water or there is no other way of dealing with him (I.E. suspect is on an unreachable roof in a locked house with no available Corporal or higher online). In other words, use it as a last resort.

   2. Road Kits may be used by Corporals Patrol Officers or higher to invigorate roleplay as long as they are used in a non-excessive or non-abusive manner.

Chapter XV - Bait Cars

1. Bait cars are not to be used at any time for patrol.

   1. Exception - Sergeants+ may utilize SUVs and Hatchback Sports for unmarked patrol.

 

Extra Notes and Clarifications:

The usage of SDARs by Patrol Officers should be extremely limited now as they can raid houses. 

Road kits are still experimental, and you guys have a tendency to use more than necessary. Try to limit yourself to no more than 25 objects per checkpoint.  (Not gonna penalize if there is more but don't come crying to me when the big dick of Jesse rains fire upon the usage of road kits.)

"Operating an illegal vehicle" includes the gunners (Be sure to add this charge to the gunners on illegal vehicles)

All cops can now look through the I-inventory of vehicles. Be sure to only be checking them with probable cause or get ready for a dickin

 

There will be more stuff coming soon. I wanted to get this out in preparation for what is already known about the next development update.

Corporals should be nerfed if anything. Remove the ability of corporals to fly over illegal areas cuz that just kills civ illegal activity on servers.

-1 to PO raid warrants tbh. In my whole time as cop I've rarely had the need to actually get a corp+ to raid a house. While it obviously does happen on occasion, it's mostly in Kavala and I feel like that was one of the features that made corporal a special rank. Too much mismatching for POs and Corporals at this point imo. 

In addition, I feel like road kits will become obsolete with the addition to it for POs. While it can invigorate role play, I highly doubt it will be used widespread after time. Deputies and POs liked to team up with corporals in little squadrons to set up checkpoints and while this doesn't really prevent that from happening, you are again taking "corporal" out of the bigger picture.
