Agree but at the same time disagree. Agree bc betting break the economy. But disagree bc if it is removed right now then all the people with a shit ton of money would keep it forever and the econemy would officially be fucked for good. While if it stays in it can balance out over time if people continue to bet. The only way to solve that issue is resetting the econemy but that would absolutely kill the server with the state of arma. Idk.

I agree with this.  I said this exact same thing in another thread a month ago.  Doesn't matter if you remove betting.  People with copious amounts of money will retain that money.  It's too late in Arma's life to reset the economy.

How has Olympus done with the other maps Arma has to offer?  I assume like every other server the Tanoa servers failed due to too little population.  However, a new server with a fresh economy and no betting would be nice.

If someone is only betting the money never leaves the Economy if betting is cut off right now the people that have a shit ton of money from betting and only gained money from betting would be forced to do runs or eventually run out of money.

Betting is not bringing money into the economy, it’s just shifting the money around

Also from my experience of betting all my money away, it forced me to actually do runs

TBH people play this game because of betting and when they lose their money they dont play for many months so if they would remove it people would just quit

Instead of removing it entirely, possibly make a low limit of say 1-2m at a time, and increase the delay on each bet. That way people can still bet if they want, but it creates a longer time of sitting and waiting. Might create more incentive to actually do something other than sitting in one spot betting.

You're right. They will just have the mass amount of money and it will stick with them. Those people will most likely not do runs or anything for money cuz they don't need it. They will go down & down constantly if they don't rob/do runs/ etc/  With it just sitting in their bank account does not mean the economy is fucked. If they don't play anymore and their money is still on them it won't go anywhere so its basically MIA money.  If betting gets removed, people who have gone poor to betting, or spend a shit ton of money, etc. will eventually need to do runs again. When betting was first implemented people were still doing runs, as the cap size for bets increased, the amount of runs decreased. I hate typing the shit out and I can explain it a lot better talking about it on TS, I spent an hour+ talking about it with  @ThatNerdyGuy lmao.

end goal to remove it, gradually reduce it

I don't agree with wanting to remove betting people need their fix and betting is it for people. However better vast amount of money is insane. Tbh it doesn't ruin the economy since the money was already there and got redistributed. I think we should cap betting to maybe like 5-10 mill max per bet. I also think we should maybe put in a casino of some type so people can play games with it. However once you lose that money; it's gone forever helping to protect "the economy."

I think ive seen more people scam and quit due to betting than compared to when it wasn't in game. When it wasn't added even some of the rich did runs to stay over a certain amount of money. Now people sell all their shit and bet the money in hopes they get get some dumb number and eventually lose it all and end up quitting. js you know its getting bad when ppl are taking loans out from other ppl

Also staff should make an actual poll and pin it so ppl can see it for a couple of days.

If I'm understanding your casino idea properly then more money would be added to the server every time someone wins. If money comes and goes what changes? Unless the odds are rigged against the player I don't see the point.

remove betting and roleback all of cartel yoyomans bets
