It's that time again. I need a new pair of headphones. What's everyone rocking these days? Is anyone out there rocking an IEM?

Edit: Forgot to mention I'm not worried about a mic option.

https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Momentum-Cancelling-Headphones-Functionality/dp/B07VW98ZKG only thing that might not be appealing is connecting it via USB if you don't have some type of Bluetooth pairing in your PC.

Insane noise cancellation and clarity and they don't make you look like a freak if you want to take them out of the house.

I’ll take a look. Currently looking into IEMs. I know nothing about them but I’m getting tired of the over the ear headphones. It gets so hot with them on and sometimes uncomfortable.

Those are what I currently have, but after about two years of wear they are starting to give out. If I can’t find a better option I’ll most likely order these again.

I've went through 2 pair of these is 5ish years and still use them today, If I wasn't a retard I'd probably still have the first pair. Nothing to complain about excellent battery life, really good Bluetooth range, and overall quality sound for a pretty good price.

1. do you plan on taking outside of house
2. is your room noisy

if you want the best of both worlds many opt for a very high grade open back headset (they have a much much bigger sound stage and overall a better sound AND will not make your head hot) and then get a nice budget pair of IEMs for on the go

Budget IEMS : https://moondroplab.com/en/products/aria or https://www.linsoul.com/products/tinhifi-t3-plus I promise you they will be better then any bluetooth earbuds.
Bluetooth earbuds: https://www.sennheiser-hearing.com/en-US/p/momentum-true-wireless-3/ Great bass great EQ and good noise canceling

I have both the t3 plus and the true momentum 3's both great sound

as for open back headsets for your room, budget is your limiter, some of the top end stuff will need an AMP to power them

a few great options

feel free to DM me i love talking about audio

Dont go wireless for your desktop setup, the audio quality drop off is not worth listening to your friends while you piss

Depends on budget but I just got the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless because @ N9ne- recommended them to me and they are awesome. Comfortable, 2 batteries so never have to sit the headphones on a charger, great wireless range, good sound and mic quality for wireless.

If you’re interested in Sennheiser you should check out their gaming brand https://www.eposaudio.com/en/us/gaming/products/headsets

if you need a mic (i know you said you dont) pc38x is a great bang for buck option and will sound better then most epos @ Mighty  dont pay the gamer tax, if you have a nice studio mic, get a nice studio headset, also what did you have before?

Do studio headphones handle 7.1 surround sound in games tho? I don't expect them to have all the necessary speakers for 7.1 surround sound but at least virtual 7.1 surround sound. I can definitely tell a difference in FPS games using stereo modes and 7.1 surround sound.

Personally, I have H3Pro Hybrid headset from EPOS. It works great most of the time. My biggest issue (and I'm being picky) is the audio connectivity is sometimes finicky. Meaning I've had issues with the dongle. Physical connection has worked with no issues. It's much better now than when I first got them which was 1 month after they dropped.

The headset has everything I could ever ask for:

  • Wireless
  • Connectivity using a USB dongle instead of BT (for gaming)
  • BT connectivity for my phone & laptop
  • Physical connections via USB-C and analog
  • ANC
  • Simultaneous listening when connected to a Bluetooth device
    • I can answer calls/listen to music from my phone while also hearing all my computer audio
  • Detachable boom mic so I don't look like a nerd on the airplane

Absolutely every feature I could ever ask for. Just wish the wireless connectivity via dongle was flawless.
