This is a fat yikes no cap

@Mr Majestic

I don't have anything to do with how your uniform looks man. I'm happy to take the credit (read: blame) for this, and while I think this is a good change (apart from the loss of aesthetics), this was a staff and sAPD thing. The civilian council has bought this up in the past, but this time around it was a staff thing and the sAPD agreed.

Lets see what the designers do with uniforms?

My bad I thought that was all civ council.
Hopefully some sAPD/Staff can see some reason to this because I dont really understand

Maybe I should redirect my post then I'm just wondering if we could give corps a differently designed vest.
@ThatNerdyGuy
The blue APD vest works on POs because POs get a blue shirt as shown here
c51b2f0d28d500038bbd9b095f658c65.png

Now Imagine putting that on corps with the red/yellow/black shirts it looks retarded

Options from best to worst:

  1. Script a new carrier lite that is armor level 2 for corps+
  2. Design the apd vest to at least be black or something
  3. Use another armor level 2 vest from arma

I'm fine with the worse vest and less armor. All the APD nerfs I think they are pretty fair as the APD is strong, but just dont make my drip game weak.

I'd take a downgrade for an all tan or tan and green uniform, there are tan and green vests and IMO it would still keep Corporal distinctive enough from POs.

FYI for all of those complaining about the vest change for corporals. Tier 3 vests were only added to corps because of a bug with Arma 3 and the police vest(tier 2). They were supposed to be switched back to tier 2 over a year ago, but that didn't happen.

@Rossco @JuanDeaged @Zeuse

Nah. They weren’t. Was more incentives for corporal + the tier 2 looks like absolute dog shit for Corp uniforms.  We had no plans to revert it at the time. Not sure what bug you’re referring to though, because if the vest was bugged, not sure why we would have just changed it for corps.

albeit this was a long ass time ago and my memory isn’t great, but we definitely changed it from requests and not for a temp purpose.

I may be wrong then, I remember being told that there was an issue with the tier 2 vest at the time due to a Arma update.

Even if there was, you would be very upset about it as usual.

Since your here @mohsen98 tell us, list everything you would change or add to the Vigilantes. Don't hold back, I want to hear every single idea you have friend!

Now that we potentially have people wanting to play less cop we should focus on civ buffs instead of apd nerfs.
you can put apd in the dirt but that doesn’t automatically make those players play civ.
constant apd nerfs can lead to players leaving because their favorite faction is completely weak and they don’t like civ.

im not saying I think this is a change in the wrong direction because I do think it’s a good change but instead for future ideas

Armed planes had come along and were killing cops left and right, turns out t3 vests could withstand a great deal more armed plane shots but were almost indistinguishable on the ground e.g. 3 7.62 to kill instead of 2 so they were adopted.

I was a cop when that change happened and there was tons of controversy around it then too, we survived with t2 vests in the past but I wish the SAPD were honest (traded corp vests for the mk18) instead of coming up with a half baked excuse (if t2 was bugged why did only corps get it?) I don't have too much of an issue with the nerfs except lethal split but I just with the current SAPD was honest with us about them.

Can’t speak on today’s methods, but I can say the only time we traded was usually sr stuff for sr stuff unless it was skin related then we would occasionally remove a lower ranking vehicle for another. Highly doubt they traded vests from cpl for Sapd to get mk18. But could be wrong if things have changed.

Civilian council isn't here to turn civilians into terminators - we're after fun, fair and balanced gameplay. We're making good progress with balancing the factions and restoring the general order of things - far from perfect, but we're getting there. Once we see some of the bigger features we've had in the pipeline for the past few months things can only improve further.

Right now I'd love to see the focus on cartels and getting federal events back into the lime light. Personally I'd love to see the APD have some sort of federal event they can start and the civilians attack for once. Some sort of protect the VIP, gold transport or something along those lines.

I’ll be sad about loosing my vest as corporal but I get it. It’s just that I suck so bad at this game that it helps a bit. 😞

L0L @Mr Majestic I'm shocked you haven't replied to this.

As if my arguments are invalid.. even cop PO's feel unfairly kitted, and they're definitely not!

Just to clarify a few things regarding some of the Corporal changes

  1. Your uniforms will be changed alongside the vests, you're going to see some different colors for them.
  2. We didn't trade your money making, vests or anything else for MK18s and UC Qilins.
  3. I can't speak for all SAPD regarding this however I spent a great deal of time with a T2 vest as a Corporal, the greatest limiting factor is your aim at Corporal. It sucks that you don't bang the block with a better looking vest but its a healthy change for the server.

There are currently no plans to introduce uniforms outside of the current palette especially considering the vests you're referencing are T1.

Just to further reiterate we did not trade anything for the MK18/Qilins. I also don't know what the reference to that bug is, we got them in response to increases in Federal Events.

Why tho?

If we're getting technical there's nothing preventing us from scripting the black carrier lite down to be T2 or making the green or tan vest T2. Also the current color palette sucks and IMO the PO and uniforms are plain ugly. I've talked with design staff a bunch about this and new good looking designs are constantly shot down by a SAPD that hates change.

If we're losing our vests that distinguish us and look cool because scripting is too hard I don't see why we shouldn't get some uniforms that do the same.
