Blackwater Update - 10/5/2016

Time for a massive update ladies and gentleman. Listed below are some things that you will see released in this update:

 

Time for another massive objective for you nasty rebels to attack! Blackwater Weapons factory is the newest addition to our server. Much like a Jail or a Federal Reserve Robbery, the Blackwater Weapons factory will require all of your skills and tactics to successfully rob. If you can survive against the onslaught of the APD, and successfully defend your bomb plant for 25 minutes, you have an opportunity at getting some really nice gear. Rumor has it that you can even get some prototype gear, like the special carrier rigs, DMS scopes, and even and armed vehicle or 2. The more you rob, the more chances you have at getting great loot! However, let it be known that there is a minimum amount of APD that has to be on to rob the Factory, and 7 officers is nothing to bat an eyelash at.

Possible Weapons:

  • MK 1
  • MK 18
  • MK 200
  • Mar 10 (lethal version)
  • ..... and some hidden treats.....

Possible Weapon Attachments:

  • Assorted Gun Accessories beyond what is currently available to rebels and the APD
  • Bipods
  • DMS scope
  • Possible Vehicles

Also:

  • Armored Vehicles
  • Armed Vehicles

  • Sgt vest update
  • Chief Helm addition
  • Paychecks revamped - You earn 2k more every 5 minutes when responding to a jail, federal reserve, or blackwater situation
  • New Charges
  • Killing APD members results in a larger bounty

Gang Tiers changed:

  • Rank 3 can no longer pull out gang funds
  • Rank 4+ can pull gang funds

Honestly, it's going to be rare that people will even get them not to mention use them. I somewhat doubt people will use them often in cartel fights and risk losing them very often. And then if you kill someone and they don't get revived, it's out of circulation for good until it drops again.

 

We know that gangs are going to be trying to farm this a lot. We made the chances low enough for the "legendary" items in consideration of that so that they are actually going to be rare.

Well it has the problem of taking away a whole aspect of being a good shot, I get that it will be rare as fuck and all, but the scope has something that all others don't and that is zeroing.

One of the things that makes most people a superior shots to others is their ability to range and quickly line up shots. In this case, with the DMS it takes one of those factors out of the equation completely, and that is the ability to line up the shots. Sure, you will still have to lead somewhat based on if the target is moving or not and if the range is something like 562m for example, you will still have to aim up a tad bit, but sniping over 1km is made much easier for someone using a scope with adjustable zeroing. It is just concerning me that this will cause an imbalance for rebel end game overall as it is such an extreme advantage. Don't get me wrong, I loveee this new Blackwater Weapons thing, even the MAR-10 is fine in my book, but the only reason I care about the scope is because of the zeroing thing, it just makes the skill/disadvantages of shooting at longer ranges with 7.62 nearly unnoticeable. That is what I'm trying to get across. By what I'm reading it is an extremely rare drop, but the thought of someone considered "high tier" getting their hands on something like that scares the shit out of me. Like... rip head dude... Rant over.

Yeah, if someone like Deimos or Tiger were lucky enough to get a MAR-10 and a DMS scope for example, it would be bad for a lot of people.

 

I get what you're saying, I really do. It's a scary thought. But that's the point. It's going to be incredibly rare that someone gets a DMS scope. I actually fully expect rebels/civs to complain about Blackwater not giving awesome shit for a while, not to mention having to deal with the APD in an area where the APD has a decent advantage with the breakable walls.

 

It's more than likely going to take a lot of grinding to get it. That person is going to be rewarded with some absurd rewards for it. But it's also a civ, which means when they die there's a good chance that if someone knows they have a DMS (And they will, because it'll be shouted from mountain tops) that the body will camped to no end to make sure it's gone for good. Nobody is invincible and everybody eventually dies. After a month or so, I doubt we'll see more than 5 in circulation. IF that.

The 115 is deadly in CQC. The .50 rounds don't have a high velocity. They'll rip an Orca pilot out but the bullets fly slower than the AK-12, have to lead a lot and long-range roaching would not work with it.

can vigilantes get spar 16s and MXCs? everybody has too high level armor of vests for vigilantes to effectively use the sting against criminals, it is better for deputy use because deputies don't have to worry about losing it and aren't even supposed to travel alone, while vigilantes have the possibility to lose their gear and giving them a horrid gun prevents them from actually doing their job and increases the risk of dying. It would be cool if vigilantes could get some of those NATO uniforms stocked in rebel as well.

Kinda disappointed they added the dms it's gonna be waste land in a few weeks when they build up and someone starts duping them

If it gets duped it'll be easily tracked. And that means bans and wipes for whomever does it. Also if you're talking about Mory Mango then he was not being truthful. Unless they actually got a drop between last night and now.

Didn't you guys get one with Mercury when it was bugged? Mercury confiscated it, right? Or did you get a second one?

So, with the vehicles that can be dropped from Blackwater, will I be able to take them to a garage and store them or are they automatically sent there? Or are they like a 1 life drop thing?
